Obama, Pelosi, Reid and company are all scheming for a way to shove one of their healthcare packages into law, no matter the outcome in tomorrow’s Massachusetts election.

If Republican Scott Brown defeats Democrat Martha Coakley in tomorrow’s special election to fill Teddy Kennedy’s seat, it would give the republican’s the ability to stop any further action on the bill in the Senate. Here’s the options the White House and dems are weighing.

- The White House will work with congressional negotiators, (read:democrats) and try to reconcile the House and Senate bills and pass a new version before Brown takes office. That’s not likely. Under Massachusetts law, should he win, he becomes a senator tomorrow at midnight.

- They’ll try get RINO Senator Olympia Snowe to cast the 60th Senate vote. Good luck with that.

- Or, they’ll go back to square one and pass a scaled down version using budget reconciliation. That only requires a simple majority of 51 Senate votes.

It’s anyone’s guess as to what they may do, but White House aides are scrambling to research all of the above options. Pelosi doesn’t want anything to do with the senate version, since it will immediately start taxing the fat and juicy healthcare plans of union members.

As of yesterday, Scott Brown leads Martha Coakley 51-46 in a Public Policy Polling.

It’s going to be fun watching this unfold over next couple of days.

If you’re ObAmish, you can keep your car, keep your zippers, lawn mower, and other modern conveniences. Instead of a German dialect, we’ll all speak Boston English and then we can sound just like Teddy Kennedy. Also, no Spanish language will be allowed, only English.

Instead of a horse and buggy, you must drive a big-ass gas sucking SUV. No CFL light bulbs, only incandescent bulbs in your house. Since it’s okay for the Amish to buy clothes from Amish tailors, we’ll start calling Jacque Penne’ (J.C. Penny) our tailor.

Like the Amish, we’ll all live in a community, which we’ll call “The Burbs.”

Maybe then hopefully we can exempt ourselves from socialized healthcare like the Amish. So join me and become an ObAmish and lets put an end to this healthcare BS.

Last year Obama praised the Mayo Clinic system as “a model for health-care reform.” Not long after, Mayo came out with this negative:

Although there are some positive provisions in the current House Tri-Committee bill – including insurance for all and payment reform demonstration projects – the proposed legislation misses the opportunity to help create higher-quality, more affordable health care for patients. In fact, it will do the opposite.

In general, the proposals under discussion are not patient focused or results oriented. Lawmakers have failed to use a fundamental lever – a change in Medicare payment policy – to help drive necessary improvements in American health care. Unless legislators create payment systems that pay for good patient results at reasonable costs, the promise of transformation in American health care will wither. The real losers will be the citizens of the United States.

Obama was right. The Mayo Clinic is a model, of things to come.

The Mayo Clinic, praised by President Barack Obama as a national model for efficient health care, will stop accepting Medicare patients as of tomorrow at one of its primary-care clinics in Arizona, saying the U.S. government pays too little.

More than 3,000 patients eligible for Medicare, the government’s largest health-insurance program, will be forced to pay cash if they want to continue seeing their doctors at a Mayo family clinic in Glendale, northwest of Phoenix, said Michael Yardley, a Mayo spokesman. The decision, which Yardley called a two-year pilot project, won’t affect other Mayo facilities in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota.

Obama in June cited the nonprofit Rochester, Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio for offering “the highest quality care at costs well below the national norm.” Mayo’s move to drop Medicare patients may be copied by family doctors, some of whom have stopped accepting new patients from the program, said Lori Heim, president of the American Academy of Family Physicians, in a telephone interview yesterday.

“Many physicians have said, ‘I simply cannot afford to keep taking care of Medicare patients,’” said Heim, a family doctor who practices in Laurinburg, North Carolina. “If you truly know your business costs and you are losing money, it doesn’t make sense to do more of it.”

You’d better get used to it.

Get on a government program. Get in line. Take a number, bring a sleeping bag. Oh, sorry, we don’t take that plan. Maybe you should consider counseling?

Reid is not only an idiot, he’s ignorant. It was democrat Senator Strom Thurmond who attempted to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1957, and failed. And it was the Republicans who led the charge against slavery.

Hours after POLITICO posted results of a poll showing a possible backlash by Indiana Dems, Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) backed off of previous statement saying he was considering siding with the GOP on a public option filibuster.

A spokesman emailed me the following statement just now:

“Senator Bayh will support moving forward to a health care debate on the Senate floor, where he will work hard to address his concerns and craft affordable legislation that reduces the deficit and lowers health care costs for Indiana families and small businesses.”

That comment apparently covers Bayh’s support of the first procedural hurdle — a 60-vote motion to proceed — but it’s unclear if the fiscally conservative Bayh is ruling out a filibuster of the final bill. I’m asking his office now.

Call Bayh’s office now, and tell him we really feel.

Without that requirement, the bill “remains dearly lacking when it comes to identification,” Grassley said. “Frankly, I’m very perplexed as to why anyone would oppose this amendment,” he said.

But Democratic Sen. Jeff Bingaman, who represents the border state of New Mexico, said that the type of fraud Grassley said he wants to prevent is highly uncommon. “The way I see the amendment, it’s a solution without a problem,” Bingaman said.
