Mama voted for Obama, and now her panties are in a wad.

Jeremy Zilber is a left-wing loon that seems to think he can sell books for children to further the liberal cause. I have no issue with his left-wing beliefs, but aiming political propaganda at small children is bullshit.

AARP stands to gain quite a bit if Obamacare passes. Take for example how they stood to gain when Congress passed the Medicare bill last November.

From the AFSCME.org

MILLIONS IN ROYALTIES. A study by Harvard Medical School indicates just how much AARP stands to gain. It estimates that companies with AARP contracts will likely get 10 percent of the new insurance market. With its royalty rate of 3.9 percent of premiums collected, AARP could receive $1.56 billion in additional royalties over the next decade.

And they really don’t care about their members. From Mlive.com June 27th 2009

In the Thursday e-mail sent to Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee health policy staff director David Bowen, AARP lobbyist Nora Super spells out the deal:

“I cannot recommend a letter of support or a major grassroots effort in support [of the health care reform bill]. Indeed, people will probably have to be critical, particularly about that provision. I hope you won’t force us to do that on such an important bill that I know you all have worked so hard on,” she wrote in the email.

“Again, AARP wants to be supportive, however, we also need to feel as if the concerns of our members have been heard,” Super wrote.

Yes, we at AARP really care. Horseshit.

Watch this video as the senior citizen mob takes over and AARP turns tail and runs out of the room. However, since the meeting was continuing on without them, they came back and spouted a little more bullshit, then took their toys from the sandbox and left again.

Damn those gray-haired radical mobsters.

This shit is getting out of hand.

The Senate Finance Committee is suggesting a “fat tax” on sugary drinks, i.e. soda pop. What the hell is happening to personal choice in this country? Do we need Obama and the liberal democrats telling us what we can or cannot put into our bodies?

CDC Chief: Soda Tax Could Combat Obesity

While Democrats await the results of bipartisan negotiations over health care reform in the Senate Finance Committee, one of the proposals put before the committee received a nod of approval from health officials today: taxing soda. [Story here]

Personally, I’m lucky to drink one or two sodas a year. If I hit the A&W Root Beer Stand, I cannot have a dog without a frosty mug of Root Beer. That’s my choice. Hear me? It’s MY CHOICE.

If the people in congress think we’re too stupid to make decisions regarding our consumption of certain foods and beverages, what’s next? They’re already dictating what kind of cars can be manufactured, what kind of lighbulbs you can burn in your home, and soon, how large your carbon footprint can be. Oh, and don’t even get me started on this bullshit healthcare bill(s).

I guess we’re all just too FSCKING STOOPID to know how to live our lives. Since they can’t outlaw cigarettes, liquor, trans-fats, sugar and a myriad of other consumables, they’re hell-bent on taxing them out of existence. Go ahead, do it. And in the end, it will cost jobs.

As a young lad growing up in the 1960′s I remember waiting for the fat-laden ice cream truck to come down the street every day during the summer. I’m sure that is on their radar as well.

I’m longing for the days when JFK was president. Really, I am.

obama youth brigade

Yesterday the new change.gov site had this tripe on it.

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Today, it’s been changed and now reads:

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Then they forgot to change this page which read:

Require 100 Hours of Service in College: Obama and Biden will establish a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year.

And now that page is gone. Fscking hilarious.

If you’re Catholic, as I am, this is a must read.

On a side note, I attended church with my daughter this past Sunday at “The River”. It’s quite a step away from Catholic mass, but I enjoyed it. Most everyone was in jeans, very casual.

About the only thing critical I have to say is the music was too loud. At times, it was akin to being at a rock concert. And no, I’m not leaving the Catholic church, I went for my daughter.

You can find out more about “The River Christian Church” here.
