Borror: Before he taxed your beer, he wanted to tax your cigarettes

In a narrow 12-11 vote, the House Ways and Means Committee today approved a 25-cent cigarette tax increase to pay for a health insurance plan for the working poor. House Bill 1008, sponsored by Rep. Charlie Brown, D-Gary, now moves to the full House for amendments and a vote.
