Indiana Republican Party Chairman Murray Clark issued the following statement about President Obama’s prime time press conference scheduled for Wednesday evening:

“Tonight, President Obama is taking to the airwaves to try to convince us it’s more important to get his health care legislation done quickly than to get done it right. The fact of the matter is there is not enough time in the next week to ensure that this 1,000 page bill does not increase the cost of healthcare, does not increase taxes on businesses or individuals, does not decrease our quality of care, and does not limit the accessibility or availability of private insurance.”

“I fail to understand how the President, as smart as he is, can convince himself that it’s appropriate to attempt to reform this huge part of our economy inside an arbitrary and dangerously condensed time frame. His original goal was three weeks; it’s not unusual for a family to take longer than that to purchase a house. Yet, despite calls from members of his own party to slow the pace, he continues to push a reckless timetable for his risky health care experiment.”

Obama is slowly rewriting America’s dialogue with other countries, while at the same time calling those that are pro-life, against illegal immigration, military veterans or gun owners rightwing extremists.

But you have to applaud Obama for transparency. He’s even extending transparency to the terrorist by releasing Bush-era memos about CIA interrogation techniques.

A former top official in the administration of President George W. Bush called the publication of the memos “unbelievable.”

“It’s damaging because these are techniques that work, and by Obama’s action today, we are telling the terrorists what they are,” the official said. “We have laid it all out for our enemies. This is totally unnecessary. … Publicizing the techniques does grave damage to our national security by ensuring they can never be used again — even in a ticking-time- bomb scenario where thousands or even millions of American lives are at stake.”

And they’re no longer terrorists and it’s no longer the “war on terror.”. According to the new Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, they’re now known as “man-made disaster makers” and the war on terror is an “overseas contingency operation.”

From Right Pundits

Another embarrassing, failed appointment for President Barack Obama. The White House, hoping to favor Caroline Kennedy with the prestigeous U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican appointment, has been shut-down, according to a Vatican spokesman.

Reports vary on how the proposed-ambassadorship is happening. Senator John Kerry is reported to have asked President Obama to consider Caroline Kennedy for the ambassadorship. From there it is unclear whether the White House actually made the formal proposal to the Vatican. The Telegraph says the Vatican “has blocked the appointment of Caroline Kennedy as U.S. Ambassador.” Either the proposal was formally or informally presented, or leaked to get a Vatican response. Either way, it appears the Vatican answered with an emphatic ‘no.’

kerry gay football passWell, there you have it. Obama wants to appoint a pro-abortionist as ambassador to the Vatican? What the heck was he thinking? That’s what happens when you take advice from John Kerry. Here Barack, let me help you put your foot in your mouth.

Oh, but wait… she is a Catholic, right? She pretends to be Catholic IMHO. Believing in teachings of Christ and at the same time supporting abortion doesn’t sit well with the Vatican.

..former Kennedy staffer Philip Johnston defended Kennedy’s appropriateness. “The church is about a lot more than abortion,” he said. “It’s about human rights and poverty and supporting workers around the world and she is a great symbol of those values.”

How oxymoronic can you get? Anti-abortion *is* all about “human rights.”

Catholic teachings have a long history regarding abortion.

From the Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, or what is more commonly referred to as “The Didache.”

You shall not procure [an] abortion, nor destroy a newborn child” (Didache 2:1–2 [A.D. 70]).

For decades, the Kennedy clan has practiced their own Walmart version of Catholicism. It’s not going to work in this case.

Oh this is priceless.

An Oklahoma City police officer wrongly pulled over a man last week and confiscated an anti-President Barack Obama sign the man had on his vehicle.

The officer misinterpreted the sign as threatening, said Capt. Steve McCool, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and took the sign, which read “Abort Obama, not the unborn.”
Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.

”I pulled over, knowing I hadn’t done anything wrong,” Harrison said in a recent phone interview.
When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.

obamanation”They said, ‘It’s because of the sign in your window,’” Harrison said. ”It’s not meant to be a threat, it’s a statement about abortion,” Harrison said. He said he disagrees with the president’s position on abortion.

”I asked the officer, ‘Do you know what abort means?’” Harrison said. “He said, ‘Yeah, it means to kill.’ I said, ‘No, it means to remove or terminate.’”

Harrison said his sign was to be interpreted as saying something like: Remove Obama from office, not unborn babies from the womb.

[...]

But his run-in with the law wasn’t over yet.

”The Secret Service called and said they were at my house,” Harrison said. After talking to his attorney, Harrison went home where he met the Secret Service.

”When I was on my way there, the Secret Service called me and said they weren’t going to ransack my house or anything … they just wanted to (walk through the house) and make sure I wasn’t a part of any hate groups.” Full story is [here]

It’s getting scary out there folks.

Obama’s Report Card After 11 Days in Office
FROM THE RIGHT:
Cal Thomas
Syndicated Columnist

My grade for the week for Obama is a D-.

He sent the wrong message to Arab nations in his TV interview, effectively telling the dictators they are safe and no one will support removing them from office. That isn’t “change we can believe in.”

He also allowed Democratic congressional leaders to add millions upon millions of dollars in pork barrel spending and then tried to sell the entire package as a measure that would create jobs and improve the economy. And he told a Republican at that Capitol Hill meeting that the reason the New Deal didn’t get traction sooner is that not enough of the money was spent up-front.

Worst of all, he called Washington-area residents wimps for the way we respond to snow. Has ever ever driven (or been driven) down the city’s small streets which were constructed for horses, not cars?

There you go. On top of that, Barack hired a lobbyist when he said he would not. He took the time to trash Rush Limbaugh instead of focusing on reaching across the aisle. He’s approved sending American dollars overseas to support abortion efforts. The list is growing.

Welcome to the administration of fruits and nuts.

Obama and the democrats are bragging about the $825 billion stimulus package that will give hope, and make change. It’s loaded with pork, here’s a few highlights.

$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts

A quarter billion dollars to fix State Department computers

$200 million to spruce up the National Mall

$670 million to rebuild restrooms and other buildings in national parks

$8 billion for renewable energies

$6 billion for mass transit

$4 billion for community activist programs such as ACORN

$2 billion for child care subsidies

$650 million for coupons for digital TV conversions

$400 million for global warming research

$335 million for STD prevention

How will any of the above items stimulate the economy? They won’t.

$50 million might seem like a drop in the hat when you’re talking about $825 billion, but if people want the arts to succeed, donate and patronize.

How is the $8 billion going to be spent on renewable energies? 1/2 billion of it is set aside solely for expense of implementing the program. Read: more government jobs. $800 million is set aside to advance the storage output of batteries. One would think the battery industry is already working on that. $4.5 billion is to be set aside for grants, that’s nothing but pure pork.

$4 billion for community activist programs? What the hell is that?? $2 billion for child care? That’s not going to create any jobs. $400 million for Al Gore and company? Screw global warming. It’s been proven time and again, it’s not happening. Over 31,000 scientists and climatologists have publicly signed a petition stating they do not agree with Al Gore & company.

condomAnd Pelosi’s pet pork project, $335 million for STD prevention. Maybe that will create a few jobs for the homeless. They can go around and handout free condoms.

According to Pelosi, “if we reduce the number of STDs, we reduce our aggregate health care expenses, which in turn stimulates the economy”. Maybe what she means is there won’t be so many people stuck up at home with the clap, gonorrhea and syphilis and they’ll jackupoff the economy by being able to get out of the house and spend their stimulus checks.

This is not the time for Republicans to sit down and shut up.

If you’re really bored, you can read the entire bill here.

The Obama-blinded wankers at NBC rejected this ad for the Superbowl. I find nothing objectionable about the ad.

So now the Obamassiah is going after Rush Limbaugh, give me a break.

WASHINGTON — President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package. More [here]

Who the hell does he think he is? Maybe Obama and his staff need to quit agonizing over Rush and Hannity and pay attention to what’s going on in this country.

The “One” has been showing his incompetence all week. Earlier this week he let it be know that you dare not question the Messiah, unless it’s under his terms. Friday he went to the press room in the White House and one of the media dared to ask him a real question. Watch for the unprecedented leg buckling media adoration of Obama to start waning sometime soon.

The Messiah also this week signed a stimulus bill for the international abortion industry. Obama’s executive order reversing the Mexico City policy imposed by George Bush will pump American dollars to international abortion clinics. I’m sure this will make every Catholic who voted for Barack Hussein Obama very proud.

Oh, and from the Smoking Gun, this:

The Audacity Of Dopeobama brand crack

JANUARY 23–Add heroin to the scores of products that have been branded with President Barack Obama’s name. Cops in upstate New York this week broke up a drug ring that allegedly sold heroin under several brand names, including “Obama.”

More [here]

The fairy tale begins.

If you’re Catholic, as I am, this is a must read.

On a side note, I attended church with my daughter this past Sunday at “The River”. It’s quite a step away from Catholic mass, but I enjoyed it. Most everyone was in jeans, very casual.

About the only thing critical I have to say is the music was too loud. At times, it was akin to being at a rock concert. And no, I’m not leaving the Catholic church, I went for my daughter.

You can find out more about “The River Christian Church” here.

Letters to the editor. From the Delaware Online

Catholic Church has made no exception regarding abortion since ancient times

In his interview with The News Journal published Oct. 19, Sen. Joe Biden presents a seriously erroneous picture of Catholic teaching on abortion. He said, “I know that my church has wrestled with this for 2,000 years,” and claimed repeatedly that the Church has a nuanced view of the subject that leaves a great deal of room for uncertainty and debate.

This is simply incorrect. The teaching of the Church is clear and not open to debate. Abortion is a grave sin because it is the wrongful taking of an innocent human life. The Church received the tradition opposing abortion from Judaism. In the Greco-Roman world, early Christians were identifiable by their rejection of the common practices of abortion and infanticide.

The Didache, probably the earliest Christian writing apart from the New Testament, explicitly condemns abortion without exceptions. It tells us there is a “way of life” and a “way of death” and abortion is a part of the way of death. This has been the consistent teaching of the Church ever since.

It was also the position of Protestant reformers without exception. It was the teaching of Pope John XXIII as well as Pope John Paul II. It is the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI and the bishops of the Church, including me as shepherd of this diocese.

Some ancient and medieval theologians did see a difference between early abortions and ones that occurred later in term because with the limited medical knowledge of the time they did not know then what we scientifically know now: that a fetus is a living human being from conception.

Nevertheless, they universally condemned all abortions.

Of course, we now know that a fetus is a living human being from the very start. Thus, abortions take innocent human lives no matter when they occur. Since there is no gradation in the Church’s teaching on abortion, there is no way the medically obsolete division of pregnancy into three trimesters by Roe v. Wade can have any bearing on the rightness or wrongness of abortion. Taking an innocent life in the womb is wrong at any stage of pregnancy.

The Declaration of Independence lists life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as God-given rights. Life is listed first, and it is the principal function of the state to protect the lives of citizens. This understanding of the state’s primary obligation to protect human life is also fundamental to Catholic social doctrine to which the senator points. Without life all other rights are meaningless.

This Sunday, all the parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington will pray the Litany of St. Thomas More, martyr and patron saint of statesmen, politicians and lawyers. We will ask St. Thomas More to intercede so all statesmen and politicians may be courageous and effective in their defense and promotion of the sanctity of human life. We hope Sen. Biden will carefully listen to the Church’s 2,000 years of testimony on abortion and that he will join in the defense and promotion of the sanctity of life.

Most Rev. W. Francis Malooly, bishop, Catholic Diocese of Wilmington
