I know the election is over, but nonetheless, I’ve decided to run this. I had it set to post before the election but one the individuals that sent me the emails below had a change in heart and did not want them published. They’ve now granted permission, so for whatever it’s worth, here’s the post.
———————————————————————————————
We have in our possession some email messages sent by Wendy Davis who is running for Allen County Superior Court Judge. Read the rest of this entry »

A local media outlet reports this morning that Ric Runestad and friends are now under formal investigation by the Allen County Election Board

As you may remember, Runestad filed the organizational documents for Friends of Good Government the day after the election. He was listed as chairman of the group. The document can be read here.
Indiana code states that when two or more people gather together for the purpose of raising or spending more than $100 in support of a candidate they’re considered a political action committee (PAC). They have 10 days to file the organizational paperwork with the election board.
Based on correspondence we had with WOWO and WANE, I’m certain that the commercial ad buys that ran days before the election will fall within the 10-day period. However, this group came together and organized long before that. In a flawed attempt they filed a writ to have Judge Scheibenberger removed from the ballot back on August 4th. The group included Runestad, Sharon Kuhn and John Popp, among others. Their motives were simple. They were seeking revenge against the judge for his handling of the Matt Kelty case.
In addition, these signs were printed and being placed around town long before the 10-day filing requirement, and all indications are it was the same group.

If Runestad doesn’t cooperate I hope that if the board moves ahead with its power to issue subpoenas, and they issue them to all of the dozen or so involved.

As I wrote about here and here, it’s now confirmed that one of the chief Kelty Kooks, Ric Runestad, was behind the “Friends of Good Government” PAC that purchased commercial air time on WANE and WOWO days before the election. He and Tea Party wingnut Sharon Kuhn were also behind the failed attempt to have the judge tossed off the ballot.
One can also assume they bought the illegal campaign signs.
Below is the PAC filing. Dirty politics, indeed.

And what are they up to?
As many are aware, the candidates in the race for Allen County Superior Court Judge are restricted to spending $10,000 on their campaign.
Enter the “Friends of Good Government.” They have purchased a substantial buy of commercial airtime supporting Wendy Davis, on WANE TV and other media outlets. Read the rest of this entry »

This sign was placed last night outside of the Fort Wayne German Club. Note at the bottom it states “Not Authorized By The Wendy Davis For Judge Committee.”
I’m not sure if this violates campaign laws or not. Any of you campaign experts care to weigh in?

Judge Ken Scheibenberger today replaced his campaign sign on West Jefferson that was destroyed by vandals last week.
It will be interesting to see how long this one remains standing.

This is childish. A large campaign sign located on West Jefferson in front of the former Dimension Ford building was destroyed by vandals who apparently used a box cutter to perform the dirty deed. Read the rest of this entry »

Following suit with the Indiana Election Commission, the Allen County Election Board will met today a hearing on a “Request for Official Investigation” on alleged campaign violations involving the candidacy of Judge Kenneth R. Scheibenberger.
The anonymous complaint was similar to the complaint filed with the Indiana Election Commission. The board ruled 3-0 against it, stating “no jurisdiction.”
The complaint was faxed to the election board from Pak Mail, located at 429 E. Dupont Rd. Fort Wayne, IN. Read the rest of this entry »

The Indiana election commission has voted that Judge Scheibenberger remains on the ballot. The statute in Indiana code applies to attorneys, not judges.
As we reported here, the dozen wingnut Kelty-ites that filed the complaint, were misguided in their smear campaign against the judge.
Judge Scheibenberger’s spokesperson told AWB the judge said, “Now we can focus on the real issues of the election, and winning in November.”
Good for Kenny.

The election commission will not hear the anonymous charges filed against Judge Scheibenberger, that alleged the judge kept attorneys and defendants waiting for 41 minutes while he attended a breakfast at the recent Black Expo. Scheibenberger had informed his court reporter in advance that he would be running late.
Their reason for not hearing the complaint was the person that filed it would not reveal their name.

There was a writ filed with the Indiana election commission today that seeks to have Allen County Judge Kenneth R. Scheibenberger taken off the November ballot.
I’m writing this post based on the facts at hand. You can decide for yourself. I will editorialize with my closing remarks.
