From Congressman Ellsworth’s web site:

As Congress works to turn our economy around, reforming the health care system is one of the most important things we can do to ensure America’s long-term economic strength. Only a uniquely American solution will fix the weaknesses in the current system, and any solution must first start with an honest and open conversation. I’ve always said we will never achieve real health care reform without giving all of the stakeholders in this debate a seat at the table. That includes you.

Please take a minute to complete the survey at the link below. Your responses will provide valuable information and ideas as Congress considers reforming our health care system.

Indiana Republican Party Chairman Murray Clark issued the following statement about President Obama’s prime time press conference scheduled for Wednesday evening:

“Tonight, President Obama is taking to the airwaves to try to convince us it’s more important to get his health care legislation done quickly than to get done it right. The fact of the matter is there is not enough time in the next week to ensure that this 1,000 page bill does not increase the cost of healthcare, does not increase taxes on businesses or individuals, does not decrease our quality of care, and does not limit the accessibility or availability of private insurance.”

“I fail to understand how the President, as smart as he is, can convince himself that it’s appropriate to attempt to reform this huge part of our economy inside an arbitrary and dangerously condensed time frame. His original goal was three weeks; it’s not unusual for a family to take longer than that to purchase a house. Yet, despite calls from members of his own party to slow the pace, he continues to push a reckless timetable for his risky health care experiment.”

Mel Simon, owner of mall properties around the country and developer of Indianapolis’ Circle Centre Mall apparently doesn’t like conservatives, or free speech. Loren Spivack operates a kiosk called Free Market Warrior in Concord Mills Mall located in Concord, NC. Simon has decided to kick him and his business out of the mall because items he sells are not “neutral” enough.

“Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we’re debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care, which according to the Presidents council of economic advisors model will cost five million more Americans their jobs.”

This video below depicts the real intentions of the liberal left and the Obama administration. Kill the insurance companies, kill more jobs. As of June, 2009 the insurance industry employed 2,2 million, with an average hourly wage of $23.64, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics [link]. How many of these people will lose their jobs if government-run healthcare becomes a reality?

In response to Drudge “outing” the USDA for spending stimulus dollars, they issued a press release. In it, they stated the following:

Response to Drudge Item on Recovery Act Funding
Statement from Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack

[...]

The references to “2 pound frozen ham sliced” are to the sizes of the packaging. Press reports suggesting that the Recovery Act spent $1.191 million to buy “2 pounds of ham” are wrong. In fact, the contract in question purchased 760,000 pounds of ham for $1.191m, at a cost of approximately $1.50 per pound.

Drudge fired back with this headline:

Agriculture Sec. Vilsack: ‘Purchased 760,000 Lbs of ham at cost of approximately $1.50 per pound’…
FOOD LION: $.79 Lb…

The Obamassiah has promised that “if you like your health plan, you can keep it,” That’s a load of horseshit. If either of the two liberal Obamacare bills in Congress passes, you would be forced to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to unnecessary things like tests and visits to specialists.

The socialist mission is to level the playing field when it comes to healthcare consumption. In other words, everybody gets the same coverage, no hogging healthcare because you can afford a better package than say, Joe the wino down on the street corner. Obama is once again penalizing success, and rewarding failure.

Heal the earth, insure the homeless, pay your mortgage and put food on your table. The Obamassiah has made a lot of promises. “Pass the stimulus and unemployment won’t go over 8%” said Obama earlier this year. It’s now about to hit 10%. ACORN/Census workers are plotting the GPS coordinates of your front door, and soon, you may be required to have a GPS in your car.

A federal commission concluded a GPS-based mileage tax to offset the revenue decline by newer, more fuel-efficient vehicles was the “best path forward”, and now University of Iowa researchers are tweaking a GPS system that will track your vehicles every move. With the current by-the-gallon fuel tax is not generating enough revenue, many are proposing a pay-by-the-mile tax. The only way to accomplish this would be to equip all vehicles with a device to track your mileage.

I think the concept of a pay-as-you go fuel tax may have merit, but using GPS is not the answer as it will allow a further breach of our civil liberties. With the technological advances in the last decade, far less intrusive technology could be used. How about a device that doesn’t track your vehicle, but records your mileage since your last fill up at the gas station and charges you at the pump?

Proponents of the project claim the GPS devices could also be used to as a tool to help manage traffic and relieve congestion. Bullshit. There are other ways to monitor traffic including below pavement ground sensors, cameras, etc.

As one blogger put it, “I’m also paranoid enough that I’d prefer not being harassed or suspected of a crime because I’m one of 200 other cars listed as “near” a crime scene.” Or another who said:

I’m a pretty good shade tree mechanic, even on newer cars.

You’d better believe that the transponder on my next car is going to get removed and will be emitting a nice, regular signal from the corner of the garage, while it gathers dust. It will keep company with the restrictive catalytic converter, intake manifold, and exhaust system that I removed from my sports car.

Welcome to George Orwell’s world.
