David Willkie is Dick Lugar’s political director. According to his financial disclosure report for 2009 his investments include the following.

Abbott Labs – Between $100,000 & $250,000

In 2010, Abbot labs contributed over $80,000 to over 30 statewide democrats and as well as the California democratic party. They didn’t give Lugar a dime.

He also owns a similar amount of stock in Coca Cola. In 2010, the Coke PAC donated to the following Indiana democrats.

Baron Hill (D-IN) – $5,000
Joe Donnelly (D-IN) – $2,000
They only gave Lugar $1,000

He’s invested the same bracket with Johnson & Johnson. J&J notable democrat contributions include Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Alan Grayson, Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, Daniel Inouye, Dick Durbin,  Sten Hoyer, John Dingell, Harry Reid, and Patrick Leahy. They didn’t give Lugar anything.

He has a like investment with JP Morgan, which, in the 2008 campaign cycle, through their PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, contributed a whopping $695,132 to Barack Obama’s campaign.

No wonder Lugar is Obama’s favorite republican RINO.

Last night I received my third email from Mark Helmke, (Paul’s brother). Mark is Dick Lugar’s official campaign spokesperson.

In this email, he’s attempting to discredit Monica Boyer, who last year formed Hoosiers for a Conservative Senate, which has the goal is sending Mr. Lugar into retirement.

The email, with commentary.

When I was a young reporter, a book titled “Precision Journalism,” was much discussed among the trade to guard against so-called experts who manipulated numbers to make a political point. My old-school political boss grandfather lectured that the only numbers that mattered were the final score of the game and the election results.

In the past several months, a Warsaw, Indiana, college secretary named Monica Boyer has received incredible national press coverage for her attacks on Senator Dick Lugar. Google reports that “Monica Boyer Indiana” has 1,530,000 hits. Impressive, especially when compared to the declared primary candidate against Lugar, Richard Mourdock, with 26,400 hits. U.S. Senator Dick Lugar, (R-IND) will announce later today that he is dropping out of the 2012 senatorial race. Lugar is a 1949 recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America, and will replace outgoing president Rex Tillerson. Lugar will also announce his intentions to donate his family’s 604-acre Indiana farm to the scouting organization early next year.

“I was always enthusiastic about being a Boy Scout,” said Lugar. “This opportunity to serve for two years prior to retiring to South Carolina is a great opportunity for me to pay them back for what they taught me as a young man.”

Lugar wished the best of luck to Richard Mourdock who is running to replace him, stating, “Richard is a great person, a true conservative that should he win, will serve the citizen’s of Indiana well.”

Lugar spokesperson Mark Helmke said, “In the 30 years I have know Dick, I’ve never seen him so excited, and I know Dick.” Lugar plans on building his own Pine Wood Derby car to race against his grandson, who’s a Cub Scout, stating, “I’ve had one kick ass design in mind since I came in dead last 68 years ago. I’m going to show these kids what a real derby racer is.”

Richard Green “Dick” Lugar (born April 4, 1932) is the senior United States Senator from Indiana. He is a member of the Republican Party and served as the mayor of Indianapolis from 1968 to 1976 and was elected to the United States Senate in 1976 where he has been the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations from 1985 to 1987 and 2003 to 2007. Much of Lugar’s work in the Senate is toward the dismantling of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons around the world.

He’s had two very interesting blog posts in the last two days regarding Senator Dick Lugar. I suggest you read them, and come back here to comment if you’d like.

It is Not Just What They Say . . . It is Also What They May Leave Out

I have a certain respect for members of the media concerning the important job they perform. I am routinely amazed at how newspaper reporters can write a story under very short deadlines with depth and accuracy. I am also well aware of Benjamin Franklin’s warning to never go to war with people who buy ink by the barrel. Read the rest of this entry »

I sensed this was coming as soon as the amendment, authored by a democrat no less was approved in Pelosi’s socialist healthcare reform legislation. Rep. Bart Stupak, a democrat from Michigan authored the amendment.

Now Axelrod has confirmed it.

Obama has picked what the White House calls another “judicial moderate with a record of good judgment and ‘empathy’ for the people involved in cases before the court.”

Just how moderate is U.S. District Court Judge David Hamilton?
