One of the 20 finalists in health care video contest run by Barack Obama’s campaign arm features a mural of an America flag splattered with health care graffiti until it’s covered completely by black paint.

According to the Organizing for American Web site, the 20 finalists in the “Health Reform Video Challenge” were chosen by a panel of “qualified” Democratic National Committee “employee judges.”

One more thing. Remember earlier this week when Obama said his health care plan won’t cover illegal aliens?

Now he says:

“Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don’t simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken,” Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. “That’s why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.

Mr. Obama added, “If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all.”

Translation: he wants to give amnesty to the 12 million illegal aliens so they can not only get government provided healthcare, but also, so they can vote for him in 2012.

The “shout downs” organized by the Republican right meet one of the classic definition of “fascist” tactics–defined as using shouting and disruption to deprive the civil and respectful debate of ideas. There is literally no defense to these tactics. I don’t criticize those who feel genuine anger or fear and show up to meetings to express those emotions. But I do call out the tactic of screaming and disrupting a meeting and the fact that this is a systematic tactic by thugs who want to prevent civil discourse, not promote it.

Let’s have the media name names, publish photographs, and do interviews of those responsible for approving, even organizing these techniues. And let’s find an investigative journalist – are there many left – to prove these so-called grassroots shouters are, or are not, being paid.

Ironic, eh? Today the left bussed-in a couple hundred members of several unions, including pipefitters and SEIU union members from points as far away as New York State for the Obamassiah’s event in Wakarusa, Indiana. Conservatives came on their own, around 700 of them. Obama’s Secret Service detail also told Wakarusa town manager Tom Roeder, (a republican), his tickets to the event were being revoked.

Even more ironic is President Bush appointed Davis to serve on the five-member Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board back in 2005. I suppose if you’re a conservative in Davis’ book, you have no civil liberties. And we thought all along that civil liberties are supposed to be freedoms that protect you from the government.

I’ll bet Davis can’t wait until all driver’s licenses contain an RFID chip so he can place operatives with RFID readers at tea party protest to gather names of conservative terrorists.

Washington- As Democrat leaders begin to flail in desperation to revive their flagging healthcare takeover, Baron Hill may have just heard an offer he can’t refuse. Hill and his fellow Blue Dogs have been in negotiations with their party bosses as Nancy Pelosi and Henry Waxman attempt to force their bill to a vote in Congress. Today, Waxman offered Hill a ‘watered-down’ compromise in order to get him on board with his party bosses and leave Indiana families in the rearview mirror. After a morning meeting with House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, Hill and his comrades had plenty to consider:

“Hill then retreated to his personal office along with Reps. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), Zach Space (D-Ohio) and John Barrow (D-Ga.), three of the seven Blue Dogs who hold the keys to unlocking the healthcare bill from the Energy and Commerce Committee. That group was gathering to consider whether to accept Waxman’s proposal or to make a counter-offer and keep the negotiations going.”

“‘I think what the chairman has done has agreed to a lot of our proposals in a hybrid fashion,’ Hill said. ‘In other words, he’s kind of watered them down. And we’ve got to make a determination whether or not we’re going to accept that watered-down proposal or make a counter-proposal.’” (Jared Allen, “Blue Dogs Still Chewing on Waxman’s Offer,” The Hill, 7/28/09)

“As the Democrats’ job-killing healthcare takeover continues to lose steam, Baron Hill appears poised to cut a deal that will curry favor with his party bosses as they force their bill through Congress and onto the American people,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Indiana families are looking for solutions that will get the country’s economy back on track, but Baron Hill is ready to sell them out once again in order to green-light his party’s anti-jobs agenda. Hill has put on a nice show so far, but his willingness to put a ‘watered-down’ compromise before the interests of Indiana families shows that his true loyalties lie with Nancy Pelosi and her radical friends.”

As Baron Hill considers selling out his constituents for some Capitol Hill credibility, will Indiana families end up on the losing end of his party loyalties once again?

His original goal was three weeks; it’s not unusual for a family to take longer than that to purchase a house. Yet, despite calls from members of his own party to slow the pace, he continues to push a reckless timetable for his risky health care experiment.”
