We know how to get Indiana out of this economic mess. The idea comes from Abe Lincoln’s father, who migrated here from Kentucky across the great Ohio in search of sure title to land. Old Tom Lincoln was attracted to Indiana by a massive jobs program of historic proportion and success. It does not resemble, however, anything the president mentioned last week before the joint session of Congress.
More about that later; let me first share the results of a study by Cory Craig in the current issue of The Indiana Policy Review. It can be put in the form of a demographic map using U.S. Census data to illustrate the only facts our economists say are worth knowing,i.e., how many are coming and how many are going. A new writer for AWB.
Rhonda Schrock is the working-from-home mother of 4 sons, ages 5 to 21. She pens a weekly column for The Goshen News and blogs regularly for Bethel College. With a “wry and light-hearted sense of humor and a sharp ear for dialog, her subject matter ranges from family stories to sensible commentary on current events and politics to her strong Christian faith.” (Jim Kroemer, Goshen News publisher) Figuring a mother of boys could straighten things out, she ran for President in 2008, garnering 7 votes. She’d run again, but fears she has far too much common sense to be elected. Besides, with all those boys under foot, the White House wouldn’t stay white very long.
Her first post will be up shortly.

This post is for Dean Robinson, who has come to believe that I’m a right-wing hack for ignoring Ron Paul. Robinson is a fan of Alex Jones and his website Prison Planet. Both of which think the U.S. Government placed explosives in the twin towers and brought them down on 9/11.
From an email:
Angry White Boy (Dan Turkette) is an establishment tool who loves fascism. That is why he ignores Ron Paul’s message.
I’m not alone. Fact is, I’m pretty much sitting out the primary until we have a candidate, which for the record, I don’t think Paul has a chance in hell. So do others, as you can see below, (CNN).

Hi, Remember Me? Let’s be Friends
Computers and the Internet have changed the face of the world in very short order. They have impacted how we communicate, shop, work and entertain ourselves, just to name a few areas. There are a lot of good things about this innovative revolution. Technology is a morally neutral item itself. It can be used for great good in areas such as public safety, information access, business production and speedy communication or it can be a great evil in the hands of hackers and pornographers. Charlie White is a liar and incompetent. He is just over his head and gasping for air, for his very survival. He could well end up in jail.
The headline in one of the papers -”I never thought in a million years that politics would get so personal and dirty.”- sums up his small fish in a big pond status. He might call John Kerry to commiserate. Read the rest of this entry »

“Penny wise and pound foolish” is an old English aphorism. It is akin to the adage of not “throwing the baby our with the bath water” or “waste not, want not.” It has nothing to do with weight. everything to do with value.
Councilwoman Liz Brown brought the old saying to mind last night as she railed against excessive spending, in this case spending money on public notices of contracts and bids, among other notices. It is a recurring theme in her never ending effort to save the taxpayer a shekel or two. Last night her foil was Mike Kiester, an engineer for the city, who was testifying on behalf of an administration sewer project for which council approval was need. Read the rest of this entry »

Because only Ron Paul really understands the Constitution, we conservatives are compromisers and idiots. Who’s the idiot now?
Texas Congressman and prospective 2012 presidential candidate Ron Paul revealed in a radio interview that he would not have ordered the mission that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden almost two weeks ago.
Talking to WHO’s Simon Conway on Tuesday, Paul – who has formed an exploratory committee for president – explained that a better approach would have been to cooperate with Pakistan to arrest bin Laden like the U.S. did with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and try him in civilian court.
“Why can’t we work with the government?” asked Paul.
Paul must have forgotten that he recently proposed an amendment to cut off foreign aid to Israel and Pakistan, so if he had had his way, why would Pakistan work with if then President Paul to turn over Osama Bin Laden ? Answer: they wouldn’t.

Statehouse Democrats continue down the path of irrelevance as Conservatives act on the demands of constituents across the State of Indiana. Conservatives pushed for and won an honestly balanced budget without a tax increase. We lifted up the institution of marriage while shutting off the taxpayer faucet that flowed to the death camps better known as Planned Parenthood. Founded by Eugenicist Margaret Sanger with the real goal of sterilization of most minority communities, liberals, African Americans especially, forget the history and bemoan the attack on the health care needs of the poor and underserved.
