OMG! Beer theft! Damn weasels. That’s news fit for the bottom of the litter box.

An Edon, Ohio-area resident reported Wednesday that seven cases of beer in her garage were stolen the night before.

The Williams County Sheriff’s Department said the beer and a large orange cooler on wheels likely were taken between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The loss was listed at $151.

Things looked bad enough for the Journal Gazette’s circulation numbers, which we posted earlier this week. The News Sentinel is owned by Ogden Newspapers, which also owns 75% of Fort Wayne Newspapers (FWN) jointly with the Journal Gazette. FWN sells the advertising, handles circulation, and prints both newspapers.

The News Sentinel was at one time the leading newspaper in Fort Wayne. That’s hardly the case now.

Friday I received an email from a reporterette with the Journal Gazette requesting an interview. Since the Journal Gazette is famously known for taking interviews out of context, I plan on declining as soon as I post this.
