Scott Schroeder was severely wounded in Afghanistan on December 9th, 2010. The vehicle Scott was traveling in was hit by an IED and Scott sustained life threatening injuries.
Immediately in the field, Scott had to have both leg amputated above the knee. It was still unclear how much damage had taken place to his arm and other areas due to extensive blood loss.
