Ben Lanka stayed up until 3:00 this morning, scurrying around to get a story out after we beat him by 7 hours. He even found his way to steal our lead-in. Twenty-five party regulars and a few civilians were there to hear the announcement.
The Fraternal Order of Police contract came to the table last night and received a do-pass vote. Police Chief Rusty York strongly supported it at the table. Behind him were two officers representing the FOP. Marty Bender wisely abstained. Tags: City of Fort Wayne, Liz Brown, Marty Bender, Tom Henry

As I’ve commented earlier, any savings the city would have realized from contracting Earth First for the garbage contract would not have been passed on to Fort Wayne residents. Now comes this. Sources have told us that Indiana News Center co-anchor Ryan Elijah will announce he’s officially in the race to replace former congressman Mark Souder in Indiana’s 3rd congressional district.
The King has struck again. Today the all-mighty one King Henry, and his staff of legal beagles filed a counter suit against I&M. What’s that going to cost? Another $200K, maybe even $500K?
