Beier’s Homeland Security Chief position eliminated by mayor
Posted by AWB in City & County Government, Fort WayneBernie called a local non-profit this week, and stated, “my position has been eliminated by the Mayor and I no longer have a job. As such, I’m resigning effective immediately from the board of directors.”
Odd, no one has picked up this story. Last I heard the county commissioners and the mayor were still talking it over.

The county has to fund the office .Maybe Beier wants to force the issue to make sure he has a job.Risky.King Henry is a good description.Council should stick it to him.
Nothing that the City does surprises me any more. At least we still have our free leaf pickup.
Heh, our free leaf pickup here in Steuben County consists of a match. Works like a charm, cheap too.
If only Henry could eliminate DHS positions up to and including Janet Napolitano's.
Why do we need a HomeSec chief, anyway? Nobody wants to blow up Fort Wayne. Which is one of the things that I love about this place.
AWB:
That's a damn shame for Beier….he's done SO much behind the scenes that always went underreported.
I KNOW for a fact that during the ice storm the other year back, we was driving though the neighborhood and physically REMOVING downed branches from the streets so as not to impede the street crews (and other traffic).
And Bernie (as head of the DHS) is responsible for the ENTIRE TOP THIRD of the state of Indiana (they divided it up that way), so it''s not "just" Ft. Wayne OR Allen County.
Must be "good to be King", eh, Mr. Henry…I mean SIRE.
(The peasants are revolting M'Lord…
Aye, , and that''s why we keep the SE side available,…for such folks…and to ignore)
Good post.
would like to see an audit of everything that has come in to homeland security, and where it is today
Are you implying the shuffling of money from one budget item to another budget item without going to Council for an appropriation, would that be the reason for an audit??
