My question would evolve around employee Phil GiaQuinta who, according to Advance Indiana works only on Fridays when the legislature is in session as the Utilities Services Manager (whatever that is). Such a strange title since City Utilities must be all about "utilities services".
So for the first four and one-half months of 2011 and the first three months of 2012, residents essentially did without or will do without the "management of utilities services", whatever that might be. Logically, if we do not need a full time person for an average of three and a half months each year, we certainly don't need this function performed for the remaining eight and one-half months. So I want to know why we cannot reduce rates by
firing.laying off Phil and any other employees with such obviously politically-motivated positions? Where there is smoke, a flame burns somewhere. Who is watching the watchers?I would also want an answer as to why the City Light funds would not be used immediately by City Utilities to blunt the staggering cost of new sewers?
Finally, why don't we wait until 2013 before beginning this latest costly water-treatment project dreamed up by the Obama EPA? Fort Wayne water is just fine — ask the Mayor and the Obama-Zombies
may behad better be gone next year.I wonder if the local media will talk about this as loudly as they did the one cent savings on recycling.
There is also over1 million from Polit,Pay in lieu of taxes that went from CU to the general fund,Were it could be spent by Henry in Packets of less than $80,000 instead of leaving it in CU where it would cover the cost of the rate increase by my math.80,000 households x 7=$560,000.Correct me if I am wrong. And yea,get hid Obama next election and ease up on the EPA unfunded mandates.
Gotta correct my math.560,000x 12 months= $6,720,000.So it would save the average home about $20 bucks a year.If your on fixed income that can be important.More importantly it would keep about one million a year from Herny from being able to spend on votes. And council with a veto proof majority maybe they should revisit the general fund and lower the amount the administration can spend without council approval.Henry has shown his hand and needs fenced in.
