BREAKING: Marion County Circuit Court rules Vop Osili certified as Secretary of State.

A judge has put on hold his order that Indiana Republican Secretary of State Charlie White be removed from office because he was improperly registered as a candidate.
Marion Circuit Court Judge Louis Rosenberg issued a temporary stay Friday until a Dec. 29 hearing sought by an attorney for White.

What did White do that Lugar hasn't also done, and how come no one looks to take on Lugar? Is Lugar still a resident of the State?
Section 4. State residence
Section 4. No person shall be deemed to have lost his residence in the State, by reason of his absence, either on business of this State or of the United States.
Lugar seems to fit in there.
It would be appropriate to have a midterm election since clearly the voters are being disenfranchised. Vop did not win and should not be certified as the winner absent a general election. That is not justice being done. It would be ironic for a person to be appointed as the Chief Election Officer that did not himself win head to head elections in the State of Indiana. Just my opinion.
I don't understand that either. Lugar hasn't lived at the address on his voter registration for years. What is the difference?

A judge has put on hold his order that Indiana Republican Secretary of State Charlie White be removed from office because he was improperly registered as a candidate.
Marion Circuit Court Judge Louis Rosenberg issued a temporary stay Friday until a Dec. 29 hearing sought by an attorney for White.
Rosenberg issued an order Thursday reversing the Indiana Recount Commission's unanimous June decision that White was eligible to run for office last year despite questions over his residency.
He ordered the commission to certify Democrat Vop Osili as secretary of state because he received the second most votes in the 2010 election.
Indiana Democratic Party chairman Dan Parker says White should step aside and allow Osili to take office.
White defeated Osili last year by about 340,000 votes.
What would happen if he resigned?
Would the party decide who our next sos would be?
Resign? Not likely since even after Gov Daniels "suggested" that might be best for all concerned, Charlie is much too arrogant to take that road. If this creates enough of a stir that Indiana lawmakers find themselves required to actually live in the state that they represent then I'm all for it. I also am suspect of any elected official that cannot keep their vows of marriage. How can I believe that they will uphold their oath of office?
