Mike Aker is a Huntertown Town Council member as well as a Fort Wayne Firefighter. His Facebook page for now, is open for all to see. I certainly don’t think his conduct on Facebook is something most people would like to see from an elected official, but who am I to judge? You decide.

This is unbelievalbe. Just went and visited his site. His page is truly disgusting. There are plenty of other posts that are just plain awrul. This guy needs to get a clue.

I'm from Huntertown, I just looked him up on facebook (didn't use the link), and his posts and pictures are still up.
Now that we know what kind of morals he has, I say he should resign if this is how he is representing the residents of Huntertown.

Wow! I don't live in Huntertown, but if I did, I would be disturbed by this man's facebook page. I understand it is social media, and people are free to post what they choose, but come on dude…You are an elected official for crying out loud. There comes a time when you have to grow up and leave the immature facebook comments and pictures to kids.
Makes me wonder if the people of Huntertown had any clue who they were voting into office!

I hate to say "I told you so" but I didn't vote for this imbecile and he only proves I was right! How sad for Huntertown to have someone with such poor judgement making decisions for the people there…. I could understand some of his pics if he were 17 but seriously???? This is a grown man with children! And the pic of him and his sons with one of them holding a beer!! OMG! what was he thinking. Grow up dude!! I hope the people of Hntertown demand his resignation! He needs to do what's right and step down from the council – or if he's not man enough to do that himself then the people of Huntertown should demand his resignation…just saying….

I also visited Penny Aker's FB page last night, and WOW, all I can say is it runs in the family. The HuntertownFire website says she is their EMS Director.
Our little town needs to clean up it's act and rid itself of these types of idiots.

I think the elderly in Huntertown better call the Fort Wayne ambulance/fire department if they need medical attention. This person is a sicko, and I certainly wouldn't want him showing up at my door. You may not be taken to the hospital in a timely manner.
Just read the article in today's Journal Gazette about Huntertown needing a deputy clerk/treasure. I see that Aker (along with his buddy, Grant) voted against approving the hiring of someone who certainly appears to be very competent to do the job…. Not surprising there – maybe he wants his wife, or better yet, one of his beer toting sons to do the job….sounds "far-fetched" right? Well, with his obvious lack of professionalism and absolutely ZERO class – nothing would surprise any of us as to what or whom he thinks would be acceptable. Keep it up Mikey – it appears every move you make just keeps making the hole deeper and deeper you have dug for yourself. What a class act….NOT!
The people of Huntertown need to demand voting districts. This is what happens when the Town Council and all of its employees live on the same street.
You had me at "his wifes page"… I think the voters that went to Carroll Highschool know Penny a little more than they would like to admit. LOL. If facebook is good for anything…it's a great snapshot of a person's character (and their associates). Birds of a feather flock together…
Akers is simply using Facebook to display the kind of idiocy for which Facebook was designed. Obviously this is the kind of content that AWB loves to promote. From the comments here, people may think Fort Wayne is the City of Saints.
The only thing that really matters is that Akers aims the fire hose toward the fire. Other than that, Huntertown citizens are free to vote for whoever they want, Facebook be damned.
His Facebook page may be childish but he is a good council man. I have never seen or heard any rude comments from Aker at a Town Council meeting.
Wrong, you must have missed their first meeting in December. Aker's comment "I think this stinks to high hell", isn't rude? He was quoted in the NW News. Children shouldn't run for public office!

Probably needs to be able to bring people out of the fire too. Needs to be able to administer EMT after diagnosing conditions as well. Kind of understating what he needs to do by saying that he is just an idiot that needs to point a fire hose at a fire. I think there is a lot more to it than that. How is that for spin?
