I recently wrote about Peter Recchio and the Indiana Tea Party. To bring yourself up to date if you missed it, you can read that story in its entirety here, (There’s a turd in the Tea Party punchbowl). Basically, the story outlines a small splinter group of egotistical tea party types, who, after being kicked out of the Michiana 912 Project formed their own group which goes by the acronym Tea-Mac, or  the Tea Party of Michiana Action Coalition.

Recchio has alienated anyone that gets in the way of his agenda, which is nothing more than a power grab. He wants to be the king maker of the Indiana Tea Party movement. If he’s not in charge, he slanders, tells lies and has people tossed out of groups, as illustrated here. Many practically worship the ground he walks on as if he’s a saint. Well, he’s not.

Let’s take a look at one of Mr. Recchio’s past business dealings. Back in 2002 Recchio and a James Davis met with Ronald Hord of Michigan in an attempt to get Hord to invest in a recreational vehicle manufacturing facility in Indiana. Recchio incorporated American Camper Manufacturing, LLC (ACM) and they were off and running. In June of 2002, Recchio and Davis came to Michigan to present a business plan for ACM to Hord. ACM had three members in the newly formed LLC: Hord, Recchio, and Davis, with Hord contributing cash and Recchio and Davis contributing sweat equity, no cash.

On September 10, 2002, and again on November 29, 2002, Recchio requested additional cash infusions from Hord in the amounts of $69,644 and $69,491.53. I’ve been unable to determine the initial amount of capital Hord invested.

On March 19, 2004, Recchio, or ACM, entererd into a loan agreement with Crestmark Bank for a $1,5 million line of credit. The agreement had Crestmark Bank loaning money to ACM based upon a percentage of its accounts receivable invoices due from its dealers. On October 15, 2004, of credit was increased to $2,5 million.

According to a lawsuit filed by Hord, he alleges that sometime in 2004, Recchio began orchestrating a scheme to defraud Crestmark Bank by submitting credit line draw requests supported by false invoices. Recchio was faking invoices to get the bank to loan the company money? Imagine that. Hord also contends that in addition to creating fake invoices, Recchio, beginning in 2002, also created false and fraudulent financial statements showing unearned revenue on its balance sheet in order to make it appear that ACM was making a profit when, in fact, ACM was losing money.

In 2005, Recchio worked out a deal with Fred Hassan in Florida as a potential investor. Hassan soon filed Articles of Organization for RV Manufacturing Enterprises, LLC (“RVME”) in the state of Florida. On April 28, 2005, ACM and RVME entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement and RVME took over the business operations of ACM.

So Hord filed a lawsuit. How did Recchio respond to that? He filed bankruptcy to make the case disappear. Is this the type of person you want representing your Tea Party?

Last week I joined Tea-Mac’s Meetup mailing list to observe only. This morning here’s how I was greeted when I went to the site.

A little paranoid perhaps? It seems so. This is from their Meetup posting board.

Susan Chilberg posted a greeting for For FREEDOM
“We need to have your name, not only your email nomenclature. Please provide that or we will unfortunately have to eliminate your membership. We’ve had some hackers on this site and have to be careful…..thanks for your understanding.”

For FREEDOM posted a greeting for Susan Chilberg

“Hi Susan – I appreciate your greeting but do not plan on posting my name publicly through this greeting system. I’m sure I will see you at an event and be able to introduce myself.”

Control freaks as well. I think Susan meant bloggers, not hackers.

Chill Susan.

Yet people will continue to join and worship the ground he walks on. Takes all kinds of nuts to make grainola. This is the kind of thing that give the grass roots movement a bruise.

What are you hoping to accomplish by bringing down this guy? I didn't know about him until the SNM fiasco, but I'm not sure if this is any better than his effort to discredit Silent No More. Reminds me of what happens between the candidates in the primaries. The Republicans tear each other apart before they even get to the point they are fighting the Democrat nominee. I'm not saying that your revelation here is a bad idea – I'm just saying I'm not exactly sure it is a good one.

Kristi, Better AWB now than the drive by media later. We must police our own, for the good of the order. What if those who knew such things covered it up merely for the sake of expedience? Would that not be the very thing that the tea party stands against, duplicity in high places? If he is so very effective this should not slow him down — why AWB merely documents an Obama like stimulus on the part of Recchio. Perhaps he will remake himself as borrow and spend liberal after this expose sinks in and ride a coming wave of Democrats on the counter offensive? Would work with a union thug methodology better than tea party leadership, that is certain.
