Brent Wake brings statewide, local connections to position to work with neighborhoods, community leaders

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry proudly announced today that Brent Wake is joining the Mayor’s staff Jan. 3 as a Mayor’s advocate.

Wake will work with neighborhoods, residents and business associations in the city’s southwest and northwest quadrants and lead the City’s efforts for the Bank on Fort Wayne program to provide access to traditional banking services for people who don’t currently use savings or checking accounts. He joins the City from his recent position as regional director for Senator Evan Bayh’s Fort Wayne office.

I don’t know about you, but living in SW Allen County for 15 years I don’t think there’s many people that are in need of the “Bank on Fort Wayne program.” Just sayin’…

I don’t know how Brent will relate to southwest residents, but I’m certain he can relate to some folks. Brent was sued along with his roommate John W. Berry Jr back in 2001 by Woodview Manor Apartments.

Neither showed up for court, and Woodview Manon Apartments received a default judgement ordering them to vacate the apartment.

Maybe Mr. "Bent Wake" will be able to secure a loan to repay his back rent to the apartment complex. Amazing fact: In 2009 the Indiana Board of Law Examiners held against me not paying an attorney fees judgment directly to abortionists (yes directly to them, not to their attorneys) that issued in 1991 and was vacated in 2008. That was the #1 reason I am not an Indiana attorney tonight — even though the judgment was satisfied by judicial order of the same court and same judge who issued it. Here is a Democrat with a seeming judgment owed to an Allen County business who will now be traveling the city talking about financial responsibility. (we all know it is really about the re-election campaign, of course.) Hoosier good old boy network, thy name is hypocrite.

Hey, team. We don't know the rest of the story, with apologies and accolades to Paul Harvey. Mr. Wake may have been unfairly charged. Or he may have had a superb reason for not making the hearing. Or he might have accepted his guilt and paid his debt. Any number of things could have happened, including the property owner paying him damages in a counter suit or settlement. Before we decide he should be hung by his pinkies until dead for his crime let us find out the rest of the story.

  3. Ransom_ says:

Jim, not guilt, merely a question of liability. Which Dan has made a prima facia showing of. Not a crime, but rather a legally cognizable and judicially decreed debt. Perhaps you should call this post to Mr Wake's attention and invite him to clarify the record for us? Of course, the ball is in his court via a default judgment, so that need not be done technically speaking — I do agree with you that he should be more than happy to clear it up since he is obviously dedicated to traditional banking methods and all.

  4. Jim Sack says:

Sure, Ransom, I agree, I just don't wanna hang the wrong man. Only saying that he may have paid up or the case may have turned out in some other way that reflected well on him. As we say, "just sayin." AWB has found the file has been destroyed, perhaps Colson and Liddy broke in late at night and removed it. You know conspiracies and all. Maybe Birch Bayh stole it with an eye to the distant future. Perhaps he is a secret ally of Ric Runsted. Never know. We do know their was a hearing and he didn't show. Judgement results. I am sure he was fighting Sandinestas with Ollie. Never know, so I will make it a point eventually to ask.

Does it bother anyone else that none of these people ever seem to consider the private sector? It's as if once you become a bureaucrat the only way you can ever imagine making money again is by looting those around you.

  6. Ransom_ says:

Brad, are you trying to say that Fort Wayne does not need a roving bureaucrat wandering the streets drilling the masses to embrace better banking habits? What is wrong with you, sir? Next thing you will probably tell us that the government should not have its own television and radio networks to teach us all how to bleet. Thinkers like you are dangerous. Re-education kamp is now indicated on your file. (Right after Mr. Wake finishes teaching you the advantages of fractional banking and due respect for Mammon.)

  7. Jim Sack says:

"…none of these people." ? Pretty sweeping. Are you sure? I would also ask you to contemplate hiring someone who knows nothing about the intricacies of government and providing a few months fraught OJT, or hiring someone who knows the ropes. Hire a trainee to do your plumbing? Experience does count for something.

  8. timzank says:

I don't think you should be as alarmed about his past as you should be about the ridiculous position it seems he's going to fill. To wit:
"lead the City’s efforts for the Bank on Fort Wayne program to provide access to traditional banking services for people who don’t currently use savings or checking accounts."

    You're kidding right?

How much does the job pay, cause whatever it is, it's too much.

  9. Ransom_ says:

Maybe he should get a toaster for every new account opened. Incentive pay.
