Larry Rensberger, candidate for Kosciusko County Council District 1 ousted by Dem party
Posted by AWB in City & County Government, PoliticsRensberger, a democrat, blasted Obama, Obamacare, Tom Hayhurst, Sheriff for-life Brad Ellsworth, and Joe Donnelly. He also tossed in his support for Marlin Stutzman.
Kosciusko County Chairman Terry Bartley released the following statement in response to a letter to the editor written by Rensberger that appeared in the Times-Union on August 6.
Rensberger’s editorial follows.
The Kosciusko County Democrats do not expect all off our candidates to agree with the party’s position at all times and Mr. Rensberger is no exception. We would hope, however, that all candidates be respectful of the other candidates who have active campaigns within the county.
Mr. Rensberger crossed the line when he attacked Tom Hayhurst, Brad Ellsworth and Joe Donnelly and we are forced to take the following action. Effective immediately the Kosciusko County Democrats will pull all support from Mr. Rensberger and will not support his campaign for Kosciusko County Council District 1.
Any appointed positions that Mr. Rensberger holds will be removed and 2010 party donations will be returned to him. It’s sad that it had to come to this, but we wish him well in his hunt for another party. Who knows, we may see him again as a candidate for another party.

Rensberger’s letter (in part) to the editor.
The Midterm elections will soon be here and I would like to mention some very important points before any of us vote.
Any time one party is in control of all three houses of government, freedoms erode for each one of us. The government loses its checking (or preventing) power and the force of the party in power overcomes the will of the people.
The fact that Brad Ellsworth and Joe Donnelly both voted for Obamacare proves that their keeping in good graces with the Democratic party is more important to them than truly representing you and I. Both of these men knew how the people in Indiana were opposed to this so-called health care bill, but they still voted party lines. You do not hear either one campaigning on this vote. In fact they never mention it.
Dan Coats is not my first choice, but he has not let us down like Ellsworth has. I hope you would think long and hard before voting for Ellsworth.

Enter Tom Hayhurst and Stutzman. Hayhurst is a democrat, and we simply cannot put him in Washington to support Obama. Vote for Stutzman to bring the majority back to the GOP and stop this skid Obama has us in.
In the Indiana House of Representatives there is a very thin Democratic majority, with both the Indiana Senate and Daniels being Republication. If we have any hope of returning Indiana to the Central Time Zone, and keeping Daniels from running wild as he did in his first two years of office, I would urge you to vote for the Democratic candidate in your district.
Remember, with each law our government passes, they are removing some of our freedoms. More laws generally do not benefit us, but makes us more like a socialist country.
Obamacare does not benefit our country. We do not have the ability to pay for it, and we each are restricted more than we were. It simply is greater control of our lives.
You may damn the rich if you wish, but when was the last time you saw jobs being created by the poor? And face the simple fact, if you are rich, and you are taxed too much, the rich will take these jobs to other countries. That is what has happened, and will continue to happen if you and I do not put a stop to it.
When you vote, do not think party line, but vote for the person who will represent you and our country, not themselves and their party.
A one-party control, at any level of our government, is a very bad thing for all of us.
In closing, I think we have a person we should draft for our next President: Arizona’s governor, Jan Brewer.

It is good to see someone exercise their freedom of speech.
Too bad he is being punished for exercising his rights.
Hopefully he is not up for election this year, and he will have time to get in the good graces of some other political party.
His party left him, the same as many Democrats I know. For tradition, family ties or what not,… many still cling to the Democrat Party knowing that the party has shifted so much to the left, that they really don't fit in anymore.
Well, there you have it. As soon as a person starts thinking, the Democrats stifle such behavior. 1984, just a little late. Don't tread on me!
What a waste that his only alternative is the GOP.
Now this is a man who thinks for himself! I am one Republican that would vote for this thinking man if I lived in his district! I bet he'll get a lot of votes from both parties as I know a lot of Democrats that also are sick of the Democratic ways…. Hope he stands firm!
Woah this is really Old…
I guess when a purported Democrat continues to refer to H.R.3590 – Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as Obama Care a term coined by the mindless pundits who populated the Rupert Murdich media machine then he deserves to be kicked out. Perhaps more of you should consider other sources of news such as PBS, who are not beholden to private ownership and influence. I guess lyaoty to your party means as little to him as the rest of you teabagger nutjobs.
By the way none of your candidate choices have a snowballs chance in 2012 without the full support of the Republican party. So Please, feel free to right amongst yourselves.
