By 2014, new federal regulations issued this week by the department of homeland stupidity will require all electronic health records must record your Body Mass Index: how fat you are. This new Draconian law also requires that these electronic health records be available on a national medical exchange.
I say Draconian because next Obama & Co. will be most likely propose penalties for being fat. Increased government mandated health care insurance cost for example, or maybe evening rationing. Then, in our current Marxist style of governing, imagine down the road they tie your BMI to your grocery shopping habits.
Imagine this. You go into the store, and with the new RFID enable grocery carts, you go to put a package of Twinkies in, and the cart says, “sorry fatso, you’re not allowed to buy those until your BMI comes down.” RFID chips are already in some grocery store reward/loyalty cards.
I think the next time I go to the doctor and they ask me step on the scale, I’ll just have to say no.

Dan:
These dipwads at DHS can KMPWA…ASAP.
(hint – take a GOOD size magnet to the grocery store…and have some fun w/ that RFID cart…BWAHAHAHAHA!)
Yeah, I'm devious that way…and I love it.
Not sure how they can reconcile this with Roe v. Wade. If doctor-patient confidentiality was central to that case it certainly seems to be undermined by a national medical exchange (How ironic it would be if that proves to be their undoing!). Of course, constitutionality hasn't stopped them before.
mmmmmm Hope and change………Do the "too skinny" people get in trouble too? It's only fair.
AWESOME………….I have a buddy who is 6' 5" and 255 who works out everyday and is active. I can now call him Obese!!!!
Hmm…I never knew if EBT Card Holders/Users (Food Stamps) are limited to 'healthy choice staple' products ?…..seems to be an easy thing to limit with SKU barcoding of products….Frankly, I think it may be a good thing, considering they're using our money to fill their grocery carts….
They can purchase anything they wish with their own money….
fat ones make the best soylent green
I'm not usually so "defeatist" but I gotta admit, I don't feel confident anymore we can "undo" the damage this President & Congress have inflicted on us. As every day unfolds there appears another surprise that was "stuffed" into these 2300 page bills. We've only scratched the surface too, wait until we find what they crammed in the financial reform bill….____Like I said I'm not usually so defeatist, but these are dark days my friends, good luck surviving financially if you don't work for the government or in health care.
Car seats until your forty, don't talk on your cell phone while driving, don't smoke, excessive TV is not good for you, drinking alcohol can be problematic because it causes you not to worry about this list and you neeeed to wooorry because that is ultimately really good for you! BMI has to calculate out right and you should be eating TOFU because cows emit methane into the environment and increase Global warming which will make you lay around in your airconditioning eat chips and get fat. Its an infinite loop.
It's an infinite loop that more and more non taxpaying, government cheese eatin', democrat kool aid drinkin morons subscribe to everyday too. It's depressing to realize how many people out there are willing to just lay down and do what the nanny's say.
Why if Obama promised that we could "keep our private health insurance", would the government need this info?
It kind of makes you wonder what the next step will be after they get this info. . . perhaps a visit from Michelle Obama telling us what we can and cannot eat or feed our kids.
I want the first published BMI to be Michelle Obama's.
This is an outrage. I'm coing to write my Congressman and……oh, I don't have a Congressman right now. Boy, am I screwed.
Another case of Government waste. They should have asked that question on the Census or had the Census dweebs come to our houses and measure us. But no……..now a whole new program. What a waste….
they are going to take everyones 401k because we are just too stupid to mange our own retirement!
maybe they could publish the circumference of that azz too!!! I think it's 10,864 kilometers… oh no wait that is the circumference of the moon. looks like it might be close to that though…..her arms are in good shape, at least that is what the Main stream media keeps telling me.
From today's Journal Gazette re: Dr. Klopfer's suit against the county:
"Klopfer’s lawsuit argues the ordinance violates constitutional privacy rights by giving health officials unlimited access to patient medical records. The county’s response calls this a “straw man argument” because, it says, no provision of the ordinance could be construed as authority for a search of Klopfer’s or the clinic’s offices."

This is exactly the case under a national medical exchange.
