Randy Borror to turn in resignation to house speaker tomorrow
Posted by AWB in Breaking NewsUpdating our post from 4:53 p.m.
We learned earlier today that House District 84 representative Randy Borror will tender his resignation to the house speaker tomorrow morning, and will also be resigning from Star Financial. Borror is taking a position with Bose Public Affairs Group and will head up a new Fort Wayne office for the firm.
House district 84 covers most of Saint Joe Township in Allen County and the surrounding areas.

With the new Ethics Reform HB 1001 that went into effect July 1st, Borror will be prohibited from lobbying the general assembly for one year. The law places a one-year cooling off period before state elected officials and executive branch employees can register as lobbyists.
It’s going to be interesting to see how many individuals from his district file to run in the caucus. I will take a guess later, with a poll I will post on the site.

A special interest lobbyist…. The company boasts it has a stable of former legislators "advocating…(for their clients') legislative, regulatory, procurement, political and communication interests."
Kinda a political brothel?
Yep—all in its "stable." Once again Republican voters are deprived of a chance to vote in a primary. Nothing like democracy at work. I mean nothing like democracy. Is Oligarchy the word I was looking for? yeah that's it.
Looks like Bell and Borror will continue their cahoots.
Randy quit announced immediate resignation. I guess he is chomping at the bit, to compare him to a horse, the quarter of which I leave to you, so that he can get in their and lobby. True is he will be lobbying from day one, translating the skills you paid for him to learn into skills that he will use against you on behalf of his clients, the big guys. They will work to sneak in lines in laws that you will never notice, not hear about and that will effect your lives no differently, probably more acutely, than the law Matt "the Hammer" Bell pushed on us all. I am glad to see Matt is now running up against people who have better noses than his legislative comrades.
"Procurement" is a good word.
Definition of procurer is http://www.thefreedictionary.com/procurer
It is interesting to contemplate Mr. Borror's decision. Occupying an official chair gives one a vote on the legislation that will greatly affect the future of our state. He was one of a very, very small group of people in Indiana who, after all the shouting, the posturing, the bickering, the gnashing of teeth and stirring of dust had the power vested in him by the people of our state to decide on our behalf. It is a remarkable privilege and obligation. Two of my relatives were state senators and they are still revered within our family, it is a point of some honor and their names are in the history books. I look up to them as examples of service to community. So, Mr. Borror has, instead, decided to leave the heavy lifting, the decision making, with all its pressure and demands, to others. He would rather be a whisperer in the ear of power, a man in the background scheming to influence legislation when he, until just recently, was in a position to determine legislation. There are already plenty of very good people lining up to replace him, so pay, long hours, the attendant public scorn, etc., must not be the issue. It must be that Mr. Borror values income over service, so, if that is so, it is an honorable thing that he does to allow those who more highly value public service to take his place.
Nicely said Jim. or should I say a good word. Public Service is, of course, service to the "public." Not much of that going around, is there?
