Well, they already dropped "The River" from FM. Won't have to worry about trying to receive 1250 on the way to work in the morning anymore.
How will this will dramatically change radio broadcasting in Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana beginning Monday, June 14th, at 6 a.m. exactly? The news release said so it must be true.
Tough to eat pizza, have a thirsty thursday or operate a pub so early in the morning. Unless, it's the aftermath of a party you can barely remember.
May Mr. Marconi not roll over in his grave again … There must have been a no compete clause somewhere in his contract which restricted what times he could get another gig at in the same market.
His preparation for the show the last few years seemed to be whatever he could pick up out of the newspaper before showtime. Maybe he'll be able to study better in the evenings. FM 100 tried a local morning show that didn't last too long, replacing it with Imus. Wonder how long this will last.
I'm curious about the famous Fed Med noncompete clause, too. Seems Dave Macy got away with it, but others haven't. Wonder what the dealio is with Mr. White?
WOWO dropped PW due to poor ratings, so it's claimed, so if his ratings were so poor on what could WOWO possibly base a claim that his being back on the air for another much smaller station constitutes competition? Besides, most non compete clauses in employment contracts are worth less than the paper they're written on.
As for going up against Charly Butcher, I've quit working for an employer only to take a job for the guy that owns a competing business down the street several times, it's no big deal. If the owners / managers are seriously competitive business people it's simply shrugged of with the attitude "may the best man win".
His show prep consisted of looking at the Drudge Report, Angry White Boy, Fort Wayne Observed and Fort Wayne Politics. Sometimes he would just read the s*** verbatim off the web. What a douche.
Maybe there is a no-compete clause, but I bet that local radio hosts don't make enough to be worth suing.
