Whatever Republican candidate gets endorsed in a primary by the Journal Gazette is certifiably the least conservative.
Once again the JG has given a kiss of death. This time to the campaign of Tom Wall in the Indiana Senate race for the 17th district.
In their statement of support for Wall, they gave him five paragraphs, while giving his opponent Jim Banks, once sentence.
He (Wall) does not support efforts to amend the state constitution to make property tax caps permanent, citing concerns that the tax burden will be shifted to the agricultural community. He said more changes need to be made in the unemployment insurance system, eliminating disincentives to work and addressing child care costs so that families can afford to work.
Wall has experience as a farmer and has been an emergency medical technician for 30 years. He served 18 years as a reserve officer for the Huntington Police Department.
The farmer’s house and the real estate it sits on is capped like yours and mine, at 1 percent. The farmland is at 2 percent, and like other businesses, farm equipment is at 3 percent. Tom sounds like he’s for more farm subsidies, which are out of control already.
And he wants to control child care costs? That’s right of of the Obama handbook. Command, control, regulate.
One thing the JG left out was Wall’s position on Obamacare.
Yet, not all local Republicans are happy about Attorney General Zoeller’s decision. At a recent TEA Party sponsored candidate’s debate in Huntington, Tom Wall, who is running for State Senate against his primary opponent (Jim Banks), told the audience that the lawsuit was a waste of time and money for the Indiana Attorney General to even attempt. That is an interesting opinion for one hoping to take an oath of office next January that requires him to defend the Indiana and US Constitutions as a State Senator regardless of his feelings about it, the cost, or the perceived odds of success. Â It is the same oath I watched Greg Zoeller take in January of 2009 at a Statehouse ceremony and many could say he is now fulfilling it with this challenge.
I’ll give the JG credit for recognizing a RINO when they see one.

Did I hear right that Wall used to be a registered Democrat?
There is no such thing as a "registered Democrat" or "registered Republican". Wall could have pulled a Democrat ballot in a primary in the past.
he used to run on the Dem ticket
Win Moses is his good friend. Wants to see him elected. Told the Journal Gazette so and they dutifully followed orders.
The leftist Journal Gazette editorial page just gave another kiss of death. This time they smooched Dan Coats.
