  1. buscopat says:

This article sounds just like a Mark Sauder commercial.

  2. Conservprof says:

Nah.. I had it written before any of those came out. I was just waiting for the campaign finance reports to make a final point.

  3. john b. kalb says:

Just who the heck is this Sauder guy? Some new entry into the 3rd rep. race?

  4. Leo from Leo says:

So I'm confused as to what this post is supposed to be communicating? Did you really spend part of your day reposting stuff from other news sources? Oh the life of a blogger….all I really got from this is that you're pissed at Bob Thomas…for what, I don't know. Are you a Souder shill? Sounds like it…

  5. buscopat says:

    John,
Sauder is the annoying guy with the big bucks bob commercials.
He is a guy that has been in DC for too long, but there hasn't been a decent person to take his place.

  6. Grant Shipley says:

Sauder? I think he makes furniture.

  7. unamay says:

If we pay taxes that end up in Washington, then our representative (Souder) gets a little of that money back so we can build a new grandstand at the fairgrounds… or whatever… is that the same as pork? I thought it was just Hoosiers getting back some of their own money? If we get our roads resurfaced or bridges repaired, isn't that what we sent him to do for us? I'm all for keeping this type of thing at the STATE level, but as long as we have the system we have now, I'm all FOR getting our own money back…right here in Indiana!

  8. me! says:

buscopat hit the nail on the head,

"He is a guy that has been in DC for too long, but there hasn't been a decent person to take his place"

I have never been a big fan of his, but i have never seen anyone worth replacing him with. I am sure they are out there, but they have not run yet.

  9. john b. kalb says:

unamay – Why the heck send the money to Washington in the first place????? Or really -Why in the heck send our grandkid's,greatgradkid's and their kid's money to Washington DC in ther last place – you know why? It's because we let those we elect to do it! And the reason that they do it – so we will think they are doing us a favor and we will re-send then every election -which is BS!!! And it is time to STOP IT!!!!

  10. unamay says:

john b. kalb: That's why I said "as long as we have the system we have now…." I'm in favor of keep MOST of Hoosier money in Indiana in the first place. (Abolish most federal bureaucracy….keep only what states cannot handle alone..like defense.) So how do we do that? How many years would it take to make this change….we know how long it took to get the Hyde Amendment, and now that's iffy. This problem is so big and has been going on for so long with so much corruption on both sides, I think only an act of God will change hearts and minds. So while I petition, talk, write letters to the editor and pass along urgent email messages, join 912….oh, and vote …I also pray earnestly for God's mercy on our nation. I pray we get a conservative government which will quickly dismantle (with a presidential VETO) all the damage this clown has done to our nation!

  11. Connie says:

Not happy with Souder OR Thomas? How about about Phil Troyer?

  12. AWB says:

    Well…

Sorry if I disappoint some of you, but I do support Mark Souder. People need to take a long hard look at their current legislators and the alternatives.

My measuring stick for any incumbent candidate is their voting record. Mark's has a voting record that aligns with my beliefs more than 90% of the time.

Re: Bob Thomas, (for you Connie). Thomas is simply trying to buy himself a seat in congress. At first, he eyeballed the US Senate seat, and then changed his mind to come to Fort Wayne after not living here for over 25 years. He doesn't know the district, the people or what their going through. He might as well be another rich lawyer. He lives in a $3 million dollar plus home in Indianapolis and came here, rented a cheap apartment and doesn't even sleep there.

Troyer has never addressed any of the issues with real solutions, just a lot of rhetoric in my opinion.

The Tea Partiers seem to think longevity is reason enough to vote someone out, it's not. Look at their voting record. Some of you want to pin your voting against Mark on a few votes, that's wrong. If you can honestly find a candidate that will vote your way 100% of the time, I have a little swamp in my backyard I'll gladly sell you.

  13. Senator Whiskey says:

You nailed it Dan. I will also be supporting Mark for the same obvious reasons.

  14. tom says:

I hear Bob will be running for Mayor of Fort Wayne if this doesn't work out. He is getting a permanent parking space downtown and calling it home.

  15. Conservprof says:

I have a cc permit and I am also a card carrying member of the NRA.

I get up early and am walking my dog at hours most people would be asleep, not unlike the man on Edgewater, recently, who was attacked and nearly killed in Fort Wayne.

Mark has an A+ rating from the NRA. THAT'S important to me.

I have family who work at our local GM plant. And although Mark voted for the unpopular GM bailout, I am glad my family doesn't have to move to another state for work. That is important to me. Mark understood that.

In closing, Mark believes in the sanctity of life. Without a doubt, my vote goes to him because I know children are the heritage of our Lord.
