I've been screaming this at the top of my lungs to anyone who'll listen… We have ourselves a tragedy in Three Acts
Prelude: Nothing in Article I of the Constitution allows Congress to mandate that people MUST participate in a form of Commerce.
Act I: Congress passes a law which says [a] everyone must engage in this Commerce, and [b] Insurers must carry patients that they will lose a ton of money on. Everyone cheers because the people in [a] will subsidize the people in [b] so everything will be A-OK.
Act II: SCOTUS tells Congress to go back and read Article I, hands them a law-dictionary definition of "regulate" so they can see that "regulating commerce between the states" doesn't give them the authority to force people to buy stuff, and strikes part [a] from law.
Act III: The insurers, without the "healthy people" subsidies, are now paying out money hand over fist, with not enough income to cover their outflow. They can't charge the problem people what they cost, though, so EVERYONE'S rates go up across the board. To staggeringly ludicrous heights. Or the insurers just go out of business. One or the other. Either way, it's painful.
I'm watching an NCIS marathon, I can't bear to have the news on in the backround like usual because it makes my blood boil.
May God forgive you morons that voted this snake oil salesman into office, you were fooled.
May those of you in the halls of congress that vote for this monstrosity tomorrow, burn in hell forever, because you sons of bitches weren't fooled, you sold your souls.
Brad Ellsworth thinks he can vote for this bill and then, in November, run for Bayh's open seat! Brad is nuts – with his announced "yes" vote tomorrow, HE WILL NOT EVEN GET THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION at their convention!!! A conservative Democrat he is NOT – more like a PINK DOG DEMOCRAT !!!
