Yet another confused candidate enters the fray for the 3rd district house seat.

From INC:

Charles Newman of Garrett announced his candidacy for the third district seat Wednesday.

Although he filed as a Republican, Newman says he’s a “Libertarian” who’s running to save Social Security, create a new system of revenue collection and establish term limits.

  7. I have been trying to respond, but my comments are deleted by the administrator. The news said it wrong, I am a conservative-libertarian. I am fiscally conservative, but I feel governent has taken away too many liberties given to us by our creator as expessed in the US Declaration of Independence. 8. I was the first one to file with the Secretary of State's office to run for Third District Congressman. It was filed Jan. 26 2010. I had been searching out with feelers since Nov. 11, 2008 about running. Phil has a hard time fund raising, and I knew that. The support is there for a replacement, but the money for anyone is not there.

The news said it wrong. I am a conservative-libertarian. I am fiscally conservative but I have libertarian points of view on some social issues. I was planning on having my public announcement on Feb. 10th, but because of the weather, I called it off and did it by email rather than just reschedule.

  9. My note to the editor, I think it might have been I tried to respond, but I was not signed it.

    Daily Thoughts Feb. 8, 2010
I just want it to be known that my intentions are to be the fiscal Representative. I do have the federal legalization of three drugs: marijuana, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine. Here is the reasoning.

  10. If you were running on our ticket, we'd teach you about keeping blog comments short, sweet, and relevant to the thread.

  11. zeakster says:

well legalizing drugs certainly is libertarian…crystal meth huh? you really shouldnt try for the sky first time out try a local election first befor you get in with the big boys.

  12. Greg McClain says:

You should be glad he is not on your ticket!

  13. AWB says:

    Hey Beav,

Get a web site of you own ;)

  14. Since November 2008 I have been asking people in North East Indiana about their feelings on drugs. About 70% said marijuana should be legal, and many brought up the fact that it is in some states. To those people I pointed out marijuana is still federally illegal, just the federal government has not clamped down.

In 2009 I found out why the federal government has not clamped down. The dispensaries as they are called in California pay their taxes. That keeps the feds away. Many of the bootleggers during prohibition did not go to jail for making alcohol, but went to jail for evasion of taxes. So in the 14 states where marijuana is legal, it is a legitimate business for the community and pays taxes, which I would say that includes sales taxes and property taxes.

thats funny enders seems to me one of your council candidates wrote on their blog bush was a racist because of the california wildfires that year. this kid doesnt have it quite figured out yet but give him credit for trying just like i did for your candidate. its good to see non career people get into politics gives me a little hope for the future

  16. I do have a website, and I did copy exactly what I had. This is new to me in blogging. My site is http://CongressmanNewman11to13.co.cc
