One thing is becoming clear.

Engineering firms have a high level of interest in Fort Wayne’s “Combined Sewer Overflow” project, which is estimated in today’s dollars to cost upwards of 1/4 billion dollars.

Floating back to the top of the list today is the environmental firm of Malcolm Pirnie. In our two previous posts, Malcolm Pirnie had racked up contributions totaling $7250 from 13 employees working at 10 different facilities from White Plains, NY, Scottsdale, AZ, Elkridge, MD, Birmingham, Al and more.

awb dotToday we’ve found yet another from Terry Ritter, who is a vice president for Malcolm Pirnie at their Tampa, FL location. Ritter gave $500. Gary Rogers from their Phoenix location also gave $500, John Stankunas from the White Plains, NY gave $200, James Strandberg from Oakland, Ca gave $250

Grand total for Malcom Pirnie: $8700 from 17 employees at 12 locations. None of them in Fort Wayne.

awb dotVincent Sommers, an executive vice president with Clark Dietz Engineers must have thought passing the hat around to employees at the company’s six locations would have been silly. Sommers gave the King $10,000 on February 20, 2009, an additional $3,000 on September 1, 2009, and $500 on December 8, 2009 for a total of $13,500. Clark Dietz is into wastewater and bridge building, among other things.

awb dottew kipperKipper V. Tew of the law firm Krieg Devault gave Henry $500. His specialty is government affairs and he also works within the gaming industry. Can you say “casino?”

Mr. Tew is also actively involved in the political process and was the state chair of the Barack Obama Presidential campaign in Indiana. He’s also the former chairman of the Indiana Democratic party. Krieg DeVault gave Graham Richard $3000 in 2003.

Don’t you just love his picture, (right). It seems to say, “aw, come on, trust me.”

I don’t think so.

awb dotJohn Trypus is with Black & Veatch, an Indianapolis firm that deals in among other things, water treatment. John gave Henry $1250. Combined with the $1250 his partner Donnie Ginn brings B&V’s total to $2500 smackers.

awb dotMark L. Turner handles business development for R W Armstrong in Indianapolis. He gave $4000 on top of his co-worker Timothy George’s $2500 contribution, for a new grand total of $6500.

awb dotRandall Willing of First Group Engineering, Inc. gave Tommy $2500, more than double the amount he gave the Indiana Democratic Congressional Committee.

awb dotAdding to Dlz Indiana’s tally of $6250, company president pitched in $1000 bringing the total to $7250.

Of the 205 individual contributions only 49 came from Fort Wayne contributors, and most of them were tied to corporate entities or are city employees. We’ll examine those contributors next.
