Another update. Eric doesn’t really want it, he just wanted to be generous and donate, (and he tied two other people for donating the highest amount). Eric’s agreed to a three day auction on e-Bay and we’ll add that to the amount received here. Here’s the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280442744921
I should mention, the eBay idea was from Bob Caylor.
Okay, it’s over and we raised $121.00
Thanks to all of the Santa’s out there. I didn’t even think about not owning a dart, so I improvised by closing my eyes and using a knife. Fetcho wins! I’ll be sending him an email shortly.
The administrative offices at the shelter are closed, so I won’t be going there until Monday. And of course, obligatory pictures will be posted here. If you still want to contribute, you still can!
Okay, as I’m writing this, we just got another $1.00 donation. Thanks! Now we’re at $122.00

Okay, we received $99.00 minus the fees, but I’m going to cover those!
Update: We’re now at $120, thanks Jim!
We received two more donations totaling $11 as I was typing this, so we’re now at $110. And this got me thinking, it’s only 7:40 Pacific time. To be fair to our gaggle of readers on the left coast, we’ll end it at 10:00 as I stated, but PST.
Bring it!

Oh my this is last minute stuff. Sorry.
I own several Reagan-era Christmas ornaments. I was thinking about putting some of them on e-Bay, but then the charitable side of me kicked in.
I have one Reagan-era White House Christmas ornament that’s without it’s box. It’s the 1995 Zachary Taylor Christmas Ornament, and on the White House site, it sells for $24.00, but alas, they’re sold out.

On E-bay, this ornament has been selling for anywhere from $15, to $45 dollars.
So here’s the deal.
From now until 10:00 a.m., I’ll take PayPal payments of not less than $1.00 each. The 50th person to give at least one dollar will get the ornament. All of the money collected will be donated to the Fort Wayne Shelter for Battered Women. I’ll pay the shipping. If you’re local to Fort Wayne, I will personally deliver it to your home.
Can we do this? If I don’t reach at least $50, the last donation will get it in spite of my failure, to be fair, I’ll print out all the donations and through a dart at it, closest wins! All the proceeds will go to the shelter. So I’m tossing the gantlet down.
Let’s do this.

Great Idea! and for a good cause.. Good luck with this.
I’m impressed with you people. So far, and less that a half-hour close to $20.
Thank you. I’d love to walk in there tomorrow in my Santa suit with $500.
Merry Christmas
Its a great idea! Good luck, my donation is on its way!
Dan – what a unique and fun way to raise funds for a great cause. There are many great organizations out there that need our help, and I think this is a great idea. This is much of what Christmas is all about.
I just tweeted it again with the #Indiana hashtag because it seems the URL from @ftwaynenews was broken.
I think we ought to do more of these so I’ll bring it up at the #Indiana social media summit
Consider my donation tendered as well.
A very Merry Christmas to you all.
ok… how many tries did it take eyes closed with the knife?
Pez,
I was wondering if anyone would ask. I threw it several times with no success, and when it damn near ended up in my foot I decided on the eyes closed thing. I did do a pin-the-tail on the donkey spin and it took two attempts. My front door now has a nice gash in it, but I was planning on replacing it next year anyway
Thanks for your donation.
Dan:
Remind me to lend you my blowgun and some darts for NEXT year…LOL.
Merry Christmas, Gang!
((And to anyone that thinks they’re having a rough year…listen to Clark Griswold:))
