You have to be kidding me. 175k a year. I had no idea.

I have a better idea, why don\’t we pay her 10 k a year for every point istep scores go up from the year she started.

Or better yet how about every time something goes wrong and she does not pass the buck, she gets 10k.

I have never seen a public official so fast to do nothing, and even faster to blame something else when something is wrong and keep there job.

Now next time we are laying teachers off, remember one thing, this woman is making 175k a year. If the average teacher is making 30k a year, we can get rid of her, hire someone who will fix it for 80k and still have enough money for 3 teachers.

Wow…I honestly think you’re ON to something here.
It DOES have the novelty of never having been tried BEFORE.

Fowler-Finmn didn’t do anything during HIS stint but “feather his own hat” for the trip to Boston…wonder how that’s working out for HIM these days?

I say let’s give it a go, and THEN see how well the rubber meets the road.

    ;)

    Well said.

In my job, if I exceed certain expectations by leading and motivating others to reach and surpass specified goals, the, I get a bonus. However, in the public sector, especially in the arena of education, it appears that one gets an inflated salary for presiding over lower and lower achievement.
First, there should be an incentive paid for measurable increases in the performance of the students. Metrics could include graduation rate, ISTEP scoring, drop out reduction and the decease in unexcused absences, among others.
Anyone running for the school board should promise to hold these educational bureaucrats to some standard of measure. That’s apparently not happening now.
Further, school board members need to grow a backbone and not merely be a rubber stamp for the whims and desires of the Superintendent and her army of administrators. No one on the board of the FWCS fits that criteria.
