Bob Amber stands accused of rape, stalking & intimidation. Why a prosecutor has not taken the case is questionable. Nonetheless, if a case is filed in civil or criminal court, Whitley County would be the likely venue based on the allegations.
After talking to a lawyer friend last night we learned that Bob Amber has lawyered up. One of the reasons this country is so great is the protection that defendants receive in our justice system. In spite of that, why wait for a case to be filed? Hire your lawyers in advance, right?
Amber has reportedly hired Dan Sigler, of Bloom, Gates, Sigler and Whiteleather LLC. in Columbia City. Sigler was the Adams County prosecutor for 20 years. His son D.J. Sigler, also a former attorney with Bloom Gates Sigler & Whiteleather, is the current Whitley County Deputy Prosecutor.
If you’re wondering why you’ve heard those names, Dan Sigler and Junior handled the prosecution in the Matt Kelty case.
Sigler’s partner is John Whiteleather who served as Whitley County prosecutor for 8 terms. Serving in his office during that period was Matt Rentschler, who is now the current Whitley County prosecuting attorney.
Bob Amber’s father is Don Amber, a current Whitley County Commissioner. His mother Patty is the Smith Township Trustee, (Whitley County).
Nice move, Bob. Afterall, you have to be prepared.

Growing up in Adams County I remember the Siglers… not sure if I met them or not but I\’ll forward this on to one of their old friends to let him know they\’ve made the big time (your blog that is… lol).
Seems unlikely that this will be prosecuted… successfully. Given the conflict of interest(s) and all. I’m surprised a lawyer who is (apparently) well experienced, thinks he can get around said conflict(s). oh, well, maybe. Maybe that’s why this AWB vigilante campaign is appropriate after all. Now, about that proof…
BTW, who drew that image? Get off the computer and go back to crayons… start with practicing drawing straight lines… There’s no sense in flying to Wal-Mart in an F-15. No sense trying to draw a map with computer precision when crayons and pencils will do.
