Fort Wayne Police cruiser in accident Saturday evening
Posted by AWB in Candidate Web SitesWe’ve not read about this anywhere else. We understand one or more people were injured but it’s not clear if it was the officer or someone in the private vehicle. It occurred Saturday night at South Bend Drive and West Jefferson.

Ouch!
I hope everyone was alright.
nobody was burt badly, young girl pulled out directly in front of cruiser.
very lucky
Looks like that cruiser is a wash, though…
Lucky, indeed.
Did you try to get the report to see what it said about the incident?
There was a FWPD traffic stop at the same intersection earlier that day. It might be one of those locations the police have set up to monitor wreckless drivers. I’ll bet hitting a police car costs a whole lot more than just a speeding ticket.
Phil,
No, I’ve just been to darn busy with other stuff.
I know the feeling, Dan.
I once saw about a dozen officers tackle a kid here late one night. An ambulance and fire truck were called in to look at one of the officers who appeard to be limping after the incident. I think it was a stolen vehicle recovery, but am not sure as I never saw anything about this in the newspapers.
There’s a lot of stuff going on in this town that I’d like to know about. The newspapers apppear to either be extremely ignorant about what is happening or complicit in the desire by those in power to liit the amount of information given to the public.
Maybe a group of like-minded bloggers could get together and share resources. We could monitor the police and fire scanners in shifts and confer with each other about what we know. I know what I am suggesting is the role already assigned to the newspapers, but I think it is quite evident that there is a lot they are unable or unwilling to report.
I expect you already have it, but if not, here is the report number for the accident you mentioned above. (09F166335) Maybe some ambitious blogger will request the report and tell us if there is anything interesting found in it. Of course, their request for the report will likely be denied.
