Obama “allahu akbar” nomination needs to be stopped
Posted by AWB in Obama, Politics, Pro-lifeObama has picked what the White House calls another “judicial moderate with a record of good judgment and ‘empathy’ for the people involved in cases before the court.”
Just how moderate is U.S. District Court Judge David Hamilton?
Judge Hamilton, a district court judge, is Barack Obama’s nominee to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. That very court has cited Judge Hamilton for abusing his power as a judge.
In 1994, the 7th Circuit rebuked Judge Hamilton for denying a Rabbi the right to display a Menorah as part of an Indianapolis holiday display.
In 2005, Judge Hamilton prohibited the Indiana House of Representatives from praying if Jesus’s name was mentioned, but said praying in Allah’s name was perfectly fine.
Fort Hood come to mind? I’m just saying..
He also is one of the most lenient judges in America when it comes to crime and criminals.
In United States v. Rinehart, 2007 U.S. LEXIS 19498 (S.D. Ind. Feb 2, 2007), Judge Hamilton used his opinion to request clemency for a police officer who pled guilty to two counts of child pornography. The 32 year old officer had engaged in “consensual” sex with two teenagers and videotaped his activities.
In United States v. Woolsey, 535 F.3d 540 (7th Cir. 2008), the Seventh Circuit faulted Judge Hamilton for disregarding an earlier conviction in order to avoid imposing a life sentence on a repeat offender.
Before becoming a federal judge, Hamilton was the vice president for litigation and a board member of the Indiana branch of the ACLU, (read:pro-abortion).
Over a period of sever years, Hamilton made numerous rulings that stopped Indiana from using its informed consent law. Had he not ruled against it, women would have been give information about the risks of abortion, as well as alternatives.
When Clinton appointed him 1994, he did so in spite of the fact the American Bar Association gave Hamilton a “not qualified” rating.
And Sen. Dick Lugar (RINO-IN) stated back in March he would support Hamilton during the Senate confirmation process.
Bayh and Lugar both need to be called and told to oppose cloture on Judge Hamilton and support a filibuster. Hamilton’s nomination will likely be opposed by all or almost all of the 40 Republicans, well, excluding Dick Lugar.

Now THAT is some scary sh*t!
Talk about a “bad penny” that just keeps coming back.
What a travesty of Justice. He both is a former ACLU member, and supports the separation of Church and State, though not as judicially as he should? And clearly supporting diversity of faith shows that he is no better than a muslim terrorist. Way to make a false association! It’s a wonder you aren’t on national networks with your insight.
THIS JUDGE DISAGREES WITH MY PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS OF THE WORLD! BURN HIM!!
He’s an activist judge! why? cause he acts how I don’t like!
I think you should change the title of this blog to stereotypical midwest ignorant white redneck.
Dan,
A fine question is who will then take Hamilton’s place on the federal bench in Indiana. I have already placed my bet on the judge who starved Baby Doe to death. Read about it here and see the embedded link to the Law Journal puff piece on Judge Baker.

Do you mind giving a reference to this: In 2005, Judge Hamilton prohibited the Indiana House of Representatives from praying if Jesus’s name was mentioned, but said praying in Allah’s name was perfectly fine.
It seems awfully inflamatory and I can’t find anything in his opinion to support that statement.
Justin,
Found it. Hamilton made the controversial ruling in the 2005 case Hinrichs v. Bosma. He ruled that the speaker of Indiana’s House of Representatives could not allow “sectarian” prayers as part of its official proceedings. He said prayers that use “Christ’s name or title” are sectarian, but he ruled in a post-judgment motion that it’s not sectarian for a Muslim imam to offer a prayer to “Allah.” In the post-judgment motion, he wrote:
So why are we so surprised? This is really happening. Don’t want to belive it.But there it is. Don’t the communist impose all their choises and programs on it’s citizens?Top that off with Obama that will send you to the gulag if you do not by health insurance.
You can also end up in the gulag for not carrying car insurance.
