I seriously think you should add, \"None of the Above\" to the poll.
Okay with that! Done, give it a few minutes to show up.
I realize most visitors to this site are conservatives, but does it not surprise anyone that Paula Hughes is almost dead last even if this has just started? So much for the elitist candidate.
Oh, what a fun poll!
I think the best person for the job is Mr. Borror. Harper runs a very close second, but his temperament at council meetings makes me question his ability to operate under pressure. Don’t get me wrong. Mitch was a good legislature back in the day, but he’s become a bit crotchety and set in his ways since becoming a member of the common council and his ability to reach across the aisle may hamper him if he were mayor.
Both Borror and Harper are fiscal conservatives, I admire that in both of them. But I believe Borror is more grounded in what this city really needs.
In either case, I would support either one of them. let’s just get rid of Henry.
Mark,
You might want to take a look at the poll now. You spoke too soon.
@Timothy
I think Harper would make an excellent mayor. As far as him being “crothchety” and your concern with his ability to reach across the aisle, neither one of those issues bother me. In fact, I’m at the point where I believe the only reason to reach across the aisle is to knock some sense into the other side.
There is only person I would truly trust to run this city, but my schedule is already full, so Hughes will just have to be it.
I don’t find Mr. Harper as crotchety. If I had to sit next to the lovely Tim Pape every Tuesday evening, you could describe me in more colourful terms.
Mr. Harper is principled and his views and core beliefs are very much in tune with mine.
I don’t know Ms Hughes, I’m sure she’s a nice person.
