Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry member of anti-2nd amendment group
Posted by Dan in City & County Government, Politically Incorrect
“Mayors Against Illegal Guns” (MAIG) was founded and funded by activist anti-gun billionaire and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Nationwide, there are approximately 450 mayors that are members of the group. Here in Indiana we have 6 members, and Tom Henry is one of them.
Don’t let the name fool you, who wouldn’t be against illegal guns? Mayor Bloomberg created “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” as a front group to lobby Congress to oppose important pro-gun reforms and support new federal gun control restrictions.
The CEO of MAIG is non other than the leader of the corrupt Chicago political machine, Richard Daley. MAIG also works hand-in-hand with former republican RINO mayor Paul Helmke and the anti-gun group, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
I could not find a source for the number of cities in Indiana with mayors, but I would suspect in may be close to 70 or so, just a guess. Only six Indiana mayors are currently signed onto the program, and of course, they’re all democrats.
Mayor Richard Hickman, Angola, IN, Mayor Fred Armstrong, Columbus, IN, Mayor Thomas C. Henry, Fort Wayne, IN, Mayor Allan Kauffman, Goshen, IN, Mayor Tom Jones, Linton, IN and Mayor Stephen Luecke, South Bend, IN.
As of October 10th, 76 mayors had resigned after apparently realizing what the group is really about. Of those, four mayors are from Indiana.
Jim Brainard (R) Carmel, Indiana
Bruce Hosier (R) Portland, IN
Ernest B. Wiggins (R) Warsaw, IN
Barbara Ewing (D) Tell City, IN
It’s time Tom Henry resigned.

It’s time that more Fort Wayne voters were educated about Tom Henry’s membership in this group.
Call me crazy, but I have having a hard time imagining what an “important pro-gun reform” might consist of.
I should have linked to their site:

Dan:
I saw a few weeks back when (King) Henry went to a meeting of MAIG.
This is a beautiful example of MISDIRECTION…
(keep watching BOTH hands, friends)
Hell, I’M all for ILLEGAL guins being taken off the streets, and I’m a staunch advocate of the 2nd Amendment.
Nice to see SOME mayors back out of this.
…all smoke and mirrors, baby!
Mayor Henry appears to be a LIAR!!!
His police department does not want illegal guns off the street, and that is a fact!!!
I think that what that department (and Henry) really want is for the law abiding citizens who own guns to quit complaining about the crime that the Mayor and Police Chief are unwilling/unable to control. By disarming the non-criminals, they would be forced to aquiesce to the criminals – as Henry and York already have done. They choose this tactic because they think it is less dangerous to attack the non-crimnals than to attack the criminals. They take what they think is the easy path because they are COWARDS!!!
If they are not liars or cowards, then they are just extremely ignorant of what is going on in their city – too ignorant to justify holding the important positions that they do. If I am wrong, let the lying/cowardly/ignorant Mayor Tom Henry and his Police Chief Rusty York sue me for defamation of character.

Yes, what we need are more guns on the streets!!!!!!
Dan,
I never owned a gun, let alone carried one on my person when I mow my own lawn, until I moved into a neighborhood here in Fort Wayne where crime was out of control. People would routinely sell crack cocaine openenly on the sidewalk right in front of my home. Frequently they would creep into my yard and even onto my front porch when I was not at home. After being blown off by the Fort Wayne Police Department for nearly a decade, I sent a certified letter to FWPD Chief York explaining the situation and asking for his department’s help. I received no reply from Chief York, but this did cause the drug dealers to throw several molotov cocktails at my home in retaliation.
I have tried to help the police with the drug and gun problems in my neighborhood, but they have made it clear that they do not want any help. What they want to do is bust ass once every year or two to quiet down a particular hot spot, then declare mission accomplished and go back to their previous policy of failure. If they really want to permanently effect the problem, they must work with the residents who are sufferring from it. But they are too arrogant to admit that they are not omniscent and that they actually need the help of people outside of their department.
You are right, more guns is not the best solution, but attacking the rights of responsible gun owners is a worse solution. What they need to do is crack down on people who buy, sell and use guns illegally. I think that Mayor Henry and Chief York do not care at all about people like me. They are trying to disarm me, while doing little to disarm the criminals who harass me. They don’t have the courage to take on the real problem, so they offer a pretend solution in instead.

Interesting story. I’d like to take the gun away from the guys who commit crimes like this. Tom and Rusty (and most Democrats) would prefer to take them away from the grandmother.
Wow Phil,
A great story. Go Grandma!
And another “happy ending”…great article, Phil.
I’m all for MORE guns on the streets…in the hands of the RIGHT PEOPLE, instead of all the damn thugs.
Now, THAT will cause EQUALITY among men.
