Yesterday, Jim Banks, Republican candidate for Indiana Senate District 17 ran into Win Moses. Moses told Jim, he is “dear friends” with his opponent and “supports him”. He was referring to Huntington County Councilman Tom Wall.
Recently in Huntington, a dog attacked some high school cross country runners, biting them in the process. The dog is owned by grounds keeper for Huntington University. Cross country runners, coaches and parents had been complaining to the local animal control officer for some time.
The dog owner is related to a county council member, who calls Tom Wall to tell him to back the animal control officer off of the case. Commissioner Wall calls animal control officer to tell her not to do anything, even though state codes says animal must be quarantined. The animal control office knew what she was being order to do was illegal, so she called the sheriff dispatch to put on the record that Commissioner Wall told her not to do what she was legally supposed to do. Wall has refused to talk to any reporter about it.
Wall also opposes property tax caps.
No wonder Win Moses is supporting him.
Support Jim Banks, go here to send him a few bucks.
Below are some of the comments from Jim Bank’s FaceBook page. Mark Souder, Tom Wyss and Paula Hughes have even chimed in.
Jim Banks Win Moses just told me he is “dear friends” with my opponent and “supports him”.

Dnc Christian Heritier And since when did Win Moses have any viability politically anyway? Didn’t he run the City of Fort Wayne almost into bankruptcy during his tenure as Mayor?

Bill Konyha Everyone has a constitutional right to make very bad choices due to misplaced loyalties. We should celebrate this exercise of our individual rights even as we work to educate others and encourage them not to make a mockery of the rights guaranteed by the constitution.

Jennifer Warf This is hysterical. Having Win Moses in the opposing corner could spell instant victory for you for sure. Goodness! I grew up in Fort Wayne and do not have much respect for the man at all. Not only do I question his political beliefs, but I have some serious doubts about his baseline honesty and integrity as a human. A comment like this one could just seal the deal for you. Not that there was a question of doubt to begin with. You are awesome Jim!

Wayne Warf That’s funny, Jimbo, Win Moses’ opponent is a dear friend of mine and I support him or her, whoever it might turn out to be. It’s about time to take out the trash in Ft Wayne.

Good stuff as always. Having Win Moses as an opponent is better than having his support.
Win Moses – convicted during the 1980′s and had to step down from the mayor’s office, only to be selected in a caucus to resume his position. It was a gala celebration party at his Westover Rd home. Now he lives in Indy and maintains a legal residence in FTW to keep his state rep position. Truly, only a man that a democrat could love.
