WANE TV takes a stand against Emily Marini’s plagiarism
Posted by AWB in City & County GovernmentUpdate: As predicated, WANE has killed all the comments on their article.

It looks like someone from WANE decided it wasn’t right for Emily Marini to essentially “lift” a story from this site for their use, (see here).
They decided to delete it and post a new story.
Below shows some of the traffic coming here as a result of some of their readers linking to this site. It also shows the now “dead” story’s page.

Here’s their original story, which is essentially just a plagiaristic version of what we ran.
Update: Finally, one MSM outlet has picked up on the story we posted at 3:49 p.m. Not long after WANE accessed our web site and read about it, they reported this at 6:42 pm.
911 Comm. Dir. on administrative leave

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)– – Fort Wayne’s 911 Communications Director has been placed on administrative leave.Tina Taviano has held this position since January of last year. The position oversees the 911 call center, the radio shop and records division.
Taviano ran for sheriff against Ken Fries in 2006 on the democratic ticket and lost. The city is being very tight lipped as to why she’s been placed on leave, as well as for how long.
I guess we didn’t speak to anyone with “tight lips.” We were told she was fired, and we’re expecting her resignation tomorrow or Wednesday. Note the bold red portion of their story against the same below in our story. Hey WANE, you’re welcome!
End of update ~~
Tina Taviano, who ran an expensive, yet failed bid for sheriff in 2006 was suspended Friday from her position as Fort Wayne’s director of communication, which oversees the police 911 call center, radio shop and records division. She was appointed to the position in January, 2008.
And here’s the new story [link], go there and comment

Figures, eh? We’ll see how long my comment lives on their article.

Interesting on how at the top of the article, there are 3 reporters’ names listed. However, Emily Marini is the only one whose name you cannot click on to email. Coincidence?
Looks like the entire comments section has been removed from the story. This is awful embarrassing for WANE.
You’re right Joe. Amazing. They’re about as transparent as the Henry administration.
AWB – All The News That’s Fit to STEAL”.
Hey, let ‘em steal. It only proves it doesn’t require much to become a journalist over at WANE. Or for that matter, an editor. It’s no wonder that Nicole Manske left them.
Dan:
MMMmmmm…Nicole Manske!
And isn’t Emily Marini RELATED to some guy named GLENN Marini???
(helluva coincidence there)
I’ve (personally) always considered King Henry’s “regime” TRANSPARENT…
I can SEE RIGHT THROUGH ‘EM…LOL.
Since I don’t watch the local news, I didn’t make the connection.
Juan Carlos Strikes Again! Check some of the other stories on their site, people have been asking where the comments went.
