The Democrats won’t give up – new healthcare plan proposes $3800 fine if you’re not covered

Baucus Plan Allows for Fines Up to $3,800 for Failing to Get Health Insurance
The plan from Democratic Sen. Max Baucus of Montana would make health insurance mandatory, just like auto coverage.

Those who still don’t sign up would face hefty fines, starting at $750 a year for individuals and $1,500 for families — for those making up to three times the poverty level.
For those who make more than that, the penalty on individuals would jump to $950 and the penalty on families would jump to $3,800.
There would be a few exemptions, including for Native Americans and for those making incomes below the federal poverty level.

We are all adults here, and as adults we know there are consequences for are actions, so if you do not agree with his views on healthcare, you can a) do nothing, b) vote for him, c) not vote for him, d) protest and picket, its your choice, live the dream!
It all comes down to what you believe, either you are your brother’s keeper or are not. The healthcare system is broken, even when you play by the rules, because even when you are working and come down with something serious the insurance company can deny your claim and you are stuck using you own funds and filing for bankruptcy when these same insurance companies are paying out bonuses to those employees that deny claims and on top of that the same companies show record profits. We are already paying for emergency room care anyway for those without healthcare, it makes sense to me to cover everyone and not pay 10-20 times more for emergency room care.
Now let me get this straight…..if I can’t afford to purchase my own health insurnace policy, then the government will FINE me $3800/yr to subsidize the government’s effort to provide me health insurance coverage. If I can’t afford the insurance, what makes the government think I can afford the penalty. Is this really the backdoor for one payer system? What a bunch of real looney tunes!
HOW DO YOU HELP PEOPLE BY FINING THEM $3800 AND THROWING THEM IN JAIL FOR A YEAR?!!!!
