Google’s Gmail system has been returning 502 server errors for quite a while, (about 30 minutes). In internet terms, quite a while is more than a few minutes. What’s a 502 error? It could mean one of the following:
“502: Bad Gateway”
“502 – Service Temporarily Overloaded”
“HTTP Error 502 – Bad Gateway”
My guess is a denial of service attack, but who knows. It’s been an issue on and off for several days. I had issues with YouTube earlier today, which is owned by Google. It seems to be working fine now, as is the Google search engine. Gmail is still not responding.
