Conservative blogger Doug Ross has been doing some homework, and the results are shocking. Then again, maybe their not?
To quickly review the situation, I took all dealer owners whose names appeared more than once in the list. And, of those who contributed to political campaigns, every single one had donated almost exclusively to GOP candidates. While this isn’t an exhaustive review, it does have some ominous implications if it can be verified.
However, I also found additional research online at Scribd (author unknown), which also appears to point to a highly partisan decision-making process.
Consider the partial list of Chrysler dealership owners, listed below. You’ll notice that all were opponents of Barack Obama, most through sponsorship of GOP candidates and organizations, but a handful through Barack’s Democrat rivals (Hillary Clinton and John Edwards in 2008, for example).

BOMBSHELL: DEALER’S LAWYER WHO DEPOSED CHRYSLER EXEC: DECISION TO CLOSE DEALERS WAS BY PRESIDENT’S TASK FORCE, NOT BY CHRYSLER
A lawyer for Chrysler dealers facing closure as part of the automaker’s bankruptcy reorganization said on Tuesday he believes Chrysler executives do not support a plan to eliminate a quarter of its retail outlets.
Lawyer Leonard Bellavia, of Bellavia Gentile & Associates, who represents some of the terminated dealers, said he deposed Chrysler President Jim Press on Tuesday and came away with the impression that Press did not support the plan.
“It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers,” Bellavia said. “It really wasn’t Chrysler’s decision. They are under enormous pressure from the President’s automotive task force.”
What ya wanna bet the mainstream media doesn’t touch this one?

Who is really surprised? This is how politics work in Chicago, and it has now just moved to a larger scale. They didn’t pay to play. Blago will be by later to help them lock up.
Nobody will touch it with a ten foot pole (or poll if you will) but I’d be real curious to know what the percentage is of “minority” dealers that were in the “axed” group….
Anybody want to venture a guess?
By the way, it’s all political because there is absolutely no economic reason for manufacturers to cut dealers. Dealers don’t cost the manufacturer a cent, they pay for all their own equipment and inventory, and every time they sell a car the manufacturer makes money, it’s just a red herring. The plan is to have government controlled manufacturing of shitty little “smart cars” and a government controlled distribution platform, i.e “factory stores”.
The only winner in this is the UAW, and that’s only a temporary victory, cuz it won’t take long for the other 80% of the country’s consumers to really despise “The Union Label” after this fiasco (and GM of course too)….
