Rick Sanchez is an idiot. With CNN tanking in the ratings game it’s no wonder he’s becoming more and more like Keith Olbermann. Sanchez claims that Richard Poplawski, the 22 year-old that killed three Pittsburgh police officers did it because he watched Fox News and listened to right-wing talk shows, like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Give me a break.
He brings in Eric Boehlert, a left-wing asshat from Media Matters, who’s mission in life is to smear anything right-wing. Sanchez refers to Boehlert as a “senior fellow” from Media Matters. What the hell is a “senior fellow”? The abbreviated definition from WIKI:
A fellow in the broadest sense is someone who is an equal or a comrade.
Okay, now I get it.
CNN searched YouTube and found videos posted by a bunch of wingnuts. How hard are those to find? There are radicals on both sides of the political fence. Sanchez also moans that Beck says horrible things day in and day out about Obama scaring the bejesus out of people. Huh? Wasn’t that the common thread for CNN during the Bush administration?
It should also be noted that neither Sanchez or Boehlert mention this, which I found on Boehlert’s blog:
After a night of drinking, followed by an early-morning argument with his mother, with whom he shared a Pittsburgh apartment, 22-year-old Richard Poplawski put on a bulletproof vest, grabbed his guns, including an AK-47 rifle, and waited for the police to respond to the domestic disturbance call his mother had placed. When two officers arrived at the front door, Poplawski shot them both in the head, and then killed another officer who tried to rescue his colleagues.
[...]
We learned that Poplawski hosted his own (failed) Internet radio show and that he visited the website of 9-11 conspiracy backer Alex Jones, who has been hyping the threat of a totalitarian world government for years. More recently, Jones has been warning listeners like Poplawski about The Obama Deception (that’s the name of Jones’ new documentary DVD) and how President Obama is bound to destroy America.
If you want the real spin on what influenced Poplawski extremist views, read this.
Warning: Watching this video may cause you to start cleaning your guns.

Dan:
Thanks for bringing this to our local blogosphere.
I can honestly say that he ONLY feeling I got while watching ANY of the FOX NEWS shows was a sense of BEING TOLD THE TRUTH…for ONCE!
Sanchez needs to get off the Kool-Aid kick and put aside that “medical” marijuana…
He’s definitely been out in the sun WAY TOO LONG.
Put a (pitch)fork in him…he’s about DONE.
Tell me that Ann Coulter doesn’T look like a zombie in that picture.
Did it occur to you knuckle dragging fools that your incessant hateful rants might actually have consequences? Much like the economic and social policies of the Right they refuse to even acknowledge their own responsibility….
Typical.
I sent a “scathing” letter to CNN management (not that it will do any good) just to make myself feel better. Sanchez is despicable all around, and belongs in the same category as Olberdouche, Matthews, Cafferty and their ilk..
Yeah, there is going to be another “report” on the rise in gun sales on 60 minutes tomorrow (Sunday). If you watch it, make sure you have an ample amount of duct tape.
WTF?? “Much like the economic and social policies of the Right they refuse to even acknowledge their own responsibility….”
Hey frickwad, the economic and social policies of the right are what kept your dumb ass alive the last 8 years AND paid for all the worthless bastards currently sucking off the economic trough that has become “obamateet”….
As for Glenn Beck or anybody else being responsible for inciting this fukwad to start shooting, you are again blaming people you don’t like for the misdeeds of crazy people. That makes you either really stooooopid, or really naive. It also means you must then subscribe to the theory that movies and television are what cause violence and rampant sexualization of the culture, so ya better start ragging on Hollywood as well as Glenn Beck. Give Sean Penn a call and run that by him…
PART TWO: I just happened to think, if Rick Beagle is sincere about celebrities/pundits “taking responsibility” for the actions of others that may have been swayed by their opinions, how about you start by rounding up Jane Fonda, Geraldo Rivera, and Al Sharpton? Those are just 3 off the top of my head that were involved in situations where there words played a vital role in the deaths of innocent Americans.
What’s good for the goose…..
