[Update] FWIW, I was just told the booing was primarily the Ron Paul wingnuts.

The Ron Paul faction will never be happy. Why they were ever brought under the tent is beyond my comprehension.
I would have voted for Runestad if I were a committeeman, but I’m not. Now it’s time for the party to coalesce and get back to the job at hand, winning the mayor’s office. Kudos to AWB for having the moxie to support someone other than his friend Mr. Shine. Now it’s time to support Mr. Shine and get back to business.
Good luck getting the Ron Paul people thinking the same thing.
I head that Shine said something to the effect, “since I’ve been chairman, 3.5 million in donations have come into the local republican party”, and then looked at Runestad and said “and not a dime came from you!”.
Bad, bad, baaad….. Runestad may have had some good ideas, but sometimes you have to put your money where your mouth is.
I was very impressed with Runestad and if Shine was not able to appoint I KNOW he would have won and as far as him not giving any money – he has put his money where his mouth is – he has given to A LOT to individual candidates, causes and conservative groups – rather than to the party – b/c of the party’s mis-management of funds.
Oh yeah? This is all I found.

I guess that Ric negotiated a $20,000.00 a year savings in rent meant nothing, and he came up with this in a week’s time.
Are we to expect a comparable rent reduction for 135 W. Main Street in these trying times?
dan, thanks for the great updates. Many counties needed a shakeup, whether they got new leaders or the incumbents with a serious dose of humility. Winning elections is the key, and 2008 was terrible.
Thanks Dalton,
I went out on a limb supporting the other guy, and frankly, it had nothing to do with personalities. For example, there are quite a few national politicians who I think should consider relinquishing to the next generation, even though they do a exemplary job.
That doesn’t mean they have to wither away into a “non-political existence” like Dan Quayle for example, they can still perform many wonderful deeds for their party operating in the background, and sometimes even more effectively.
The outstanding showing today is being trumpeted by some. I believe there were 336 committeeman that showed up, (and I wasn’t one of them, I was on my way back from an out of town trip). However, after the Chair vote I’m told approximately 200 of them walked out and did not stay to perform the balance of their appointed duties. Many suspect that these were primarily appointed committeemen, but we’ll never know for certain.
I agree with what John Quincy said about it now being time to “coalesce”. We’re just a few years from the mayoral race here. We need to start grooming a couple of candidates for that job. And if we end up with more than one in the primary, none of the “republican’s for Henry” bullshit that happened in the last race if “their guy” doesn’t win.
How many votes did the 3 spoilers get?
So when do we get to see a Hitler video of the caucus or just of the Allen County GOP?
Many of the people Shine appointed voted for Ric as a large portion of the Ron Paul nuts got appointed by Steve
It’s a common theme in many places around the State …

The question is, what are you going to do about it?
John, great link!
Who am I?
I am small but mighty and when I get ROLLING I AM A MASS OF DESTRUCTION.
That would be Steve Shine, Chairman of the Allen County Republican Party..
Have a seat Mr. Runestad, because your 15 minutes are over!
Mr. Shine.
Please read, Article. 1. Section. 2. paragraph 2, of ; The Constitution of the United States, before you appoint or attempt to appoint a replacement for Mark Souder.
HUUUUUUUM, I WONDER?
