Remember when Rush played the song “Barack the Magic Negro” and how enraged the left was?
Now the left is saying the GOP has elected Michael Steele as their own “Magic Negro”. Over at the Democratic Underground you can find thread postings like this:
- I hate that guy…
- So their token African-American will be the leader?
- First thing he needs to do? Take off the orange and black striped tie!
- Is he a magic Negro?
- Black Republicans…should be an oxymoron. Steele is another half-baked house negro. I’ve got no use for him. He wants to lead the party that wouldn’t have given him the right to vote. What an ass.
Where’s the love and peace? Isn’t the democratic party all about hope and change now that you have your oracle the Obamassiah in the oval office? Not if you’re an African American AND a member of the republican party, then you’re just another Uncle Tom.
Remember this, back when Steele became first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland?

Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an “Uncle Tom” and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report — the only Republican candidate so targeted.
But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with “pointing out the obvious.”
The left wants to impose standards on the right, but when something like this happens they find it impossible to live up to those standards.
Liberal hypocrisy at its finest.

Will the new president rebuke the left for this behavior? He should. The amount of ugly name-calling from the left with little media reporting is unbelievable. If minorities would only look at Republican platforms, they would see that they would benefit from GOP platforms. The civil rights leaders of the ’60′s are no longer in touch with current generations. They would rather relive the past today.
The Republican Party did in fact give African Americans the right to vote.
