Tracy Warner is pathetic.

Allen County Republicans face the unusual situation of replacing three elected officials midterm during a single day this month.

Republican precinct committeemen from southwest Allen County will vote Jan. 24 on replacing Cal Miller, who resigned abruptly last week from the Allen County Council. While others have expressed interest, only Jim Howard, the purchasing director for the city of Fort Wayne, has publicly announced intentions to seek the office.

Miller has done as much as any local Republican in the past six years to advance a progressive agenda emphasizing fiscal accountability and willingness to seek changes in local government. Howard, a staunch social conservative, is from the Matt Kelty wing of the local GOP.

When did the GOP give Matt Kelty his own wing? I could not have said it better than Mr. Green Jeans did moments ago at FWP (Fort Wayne Politics).

Comment:
How about Tracy Warner outing Jim Howard as a member of the “Kelty” wing of the party. I am fairly certain that the Kelty wing consists of about 8 loons and it does not include Mr. Howard. If I remember correctly, Mr. Howard was frequently critical of Kelty. Unfair and unnecessary slam by Warner.

What it comes down to is that the ultra-lib Warner believes that all pro-life individuals are unfit to serve on county council or any other office. We all know how much county council weighs in on the abortion debate.

Warner’s column is ridiculous.

Warner thinks anyone who isn’t a RINO like Helmke is part of the Kelty wing of the GOP

  2. John Henry says:

So anyone who supported Kelty in the Mayoral primary is from the Kelty wing (if there is one) of the GOP? And any attorney that provided advice to the Kelty campaign at their request is also a member of this inauspicious wing?

Tracy Warner appears obsessed with Kelty, and will transfer his distain for the candidate and the issues he campaigned on, to any person he does not support.

Frankly, given Jim Howard’s military background, training and practice as an attorney, and service to the City AND County under three Mayors, I think he is an ideal candidate for County Council and could well serve as a bridge between the City and County for real progress on City-County consolidation that makes sense for everyone.

The fact that he has principles he adheres to should be held against him. In fact, I think that is quite refreshing in a public servant.

  3. tracy warner’s not so bad. in fact, he seems like a nice guy, once you get past the bluster. He’s an instructor in one of my college classes- media/communications law. He even gave FTW news ( this blog) a free plug today.
so give the poor guy a break. At least he’s honest about his political/social views- hes a liberal newspaper editor- the local gop is full of 2 faced “janus’s” ignore the “J” if you wish. google “Janus”- a roman god.
do i get an A for the day, mr. warner?

I am not sure but I would be willing to take anyone out to lunch/dinner who files an Hatch Act against Glynn Hines. Hines is a JAG Specialist under the Indiana Dept. of Workforce Development. He is paid through federal funds.
