Many times I truly believe that this city’s ZONING LAWS and REGULATIONS are written in PENCIL…(or at least disappearing ink).
That would account for all the “arbitrary” changes around town, that’s for sure (and many times NOT for the better).

I kind of wish our city would focus more on revising it’s zoning laws. It seems we’re able to just build anything on the corner of any neighborhood with bright neon signs and lights at any height and direction. I’ve been in small towns that are more strict with business zoning laws where sign height, color and materials used were strictly enforced so as to not drag down the value of nearby neighborhoods. Sound like a pain? On the contrary, it did not affect business and the integrity and beauty (if that is the appropriate word) remained relatively intact.

Personally, I think more should be done here in ft wayne, where it seems like there is no plan at all.

I’m ducking now to prevent being struck from the stones that will be thrown at me.

in defence of highschool bands

why would you buy a house next to a high school if you dont like band music? you have to take some personal responsibility there

My Noise Pollution question is: Why do the Noise Nazis permit high school bands to harass neighbors with awful music and drum beats night after night and weekend after weekend during band competition times? It seems to me that gymnasiums exist for musical practice and the very football fields that they perform on are available to practice marching.

No law is worthwhile if it is not enforced.

He showed leadership when he backed out of his lease for a Harrison Square condo. Obviously, his sentiment here reflects that of the majority of the people in this community. His bold example will quickly be followed by others, including White Lodging.

And regarding the light ordinance, all I can say is what a unch of silly twits we have running our government. It is absolutely pathetic that a cop (Marty Bender) would support such an asanine law.

Just goes to show ‘ya…when City Council gets an “idea”, and the “bulb upstairs” goes on…someone WILL inevitably want to pass an ordinance regarding it!
