Oh, I should have been more specific. The person who warned to me predicted they would actually break a city main. I don’t think that was supposed to be a part of the plan.

And I remembered who it was that told me this and will see him next week and find out things of my own satisfaction I guess… for whatever good that does. I think he was part of a group that didn’t get a contract, and has no favored status to get a contract.

When a plan like the unnecessary new ball diamond includes a line item for “dewatering” and an organization is hired to accomplish this, why are you now questioning this – THE PROBLEM WAS KNOWN FROM THE START, but we proceed in spite of it – that’s how Redevelopment has been doing things for many years – SNAFU.

I heard from a person who works for the waste water department that when they dug the parking garage for the library, they encountered a massive amount of groundwater intrusion into the site.

In an uncharacteristically smart move, they are harnessing it to heat and cool the library. However, they dug a giant hole in the ground to build a baseball diamond and I do wonder how they intend to dispose of the water…

I shouldn’t say “design flaw”… the designers may be constantly scrambling from what they are being asked… Major “design idea” fault might be more accurate. I mean, I don’t know if one has to be built if digging one is better or not. Who knows? Shorter light poles are an advantage I guess.

Someone who works next door just told me they had a major stench in their building last night.

The Arby’s went next door to the liquor store and bought a bunch of 20 oz. bottles to give to their customer’s with a glass of ice with their lunch orders. Someone from the construction company managed to tell the Starbucks management they would be without water, but no one else I have found knew about it until after it was shut off.

A call to the office at the construction company said yes, they were working on the problem.

Wow. Someone in my league told me there would be a problem there but I can’t remember who it was. I wonder if its really the construction company’s fault or a design flaw. I remember this person also going on and on about “Why are they digging down because they are going to have to pump out a lot of water?”
