Since you didn\'t get the email Andrew, I\'m assuming that it may have been sent to only students affiliated with student organizations or some other type of mass email in which names were attached because I got the email as well. Granted, I co-founded the CR group along with Tony, so that may be the reason I got the email. Nevertheless, I can assure you that the email Professor Downs sent out will help me in the near future as I have had at least three Republican/Conservative students approach me within the last week about registering to vote. Now instead of trying to explain things verbally to them, I can simply forward them this email. While we all know where Professor Downs stands on most political issues compared to many Republicans like Tony and I, I can assure you that in and out of the classroom he is a class act to all ideologies and beliefs. Professor Downs went out of his way to help get everything set up in advance, as well as call the local Media for us. If the number of people interested in College Republicans this school year is any indication, then the email that he sent out will definitely be an advantage for the local GOP. We have had a ton of interest from students to join the IPFW CRs who are excited about the current election year and who are turned off to teachings of many of the Liberal Professors on campus. I don't see anything more than an effort to help inform us college students that were already intending on voting.
