There was a convicted felon that ran, and I notified Ab and he had that person removed from the ballot. It should also be noted he was a Libertarian that switched to the GOP. I can give you his name off-line if you like.

Have you EVER heard of Matt Kelty? Do you know that some of Matt Kelty’s supporters decided to fill precinct committeman spots long BEFORE the Ron Paul group got organized? This group of people contacted me early this year and wanted me to consider being a Precinct Committeeman. Just for your information a fair number of the new Precinct Committeeman were recruited long BEFORE the Ron Paul group got organized. I am relatively certain that you know this to be true; however, for some reason, you are completely ignoring it because it does not fit in with what you are trying to say on this blog.

I am somewhat surprised by your comments.

I have talked to several people who were at the state GOP convention; both from the Ron Paul supporters and from those who supported McCain and all seem to agree that things were poorly handled and that the spirit of Roberts Rules were certainly violated.

I would recommend that you spend some time with Steve Shine and see what he thinks of what happened at the GOP Convention; I think you will be quite surprised at the results of that conversation…

As you know I switched to the Republican Party from the Libertarian Party. I believe in small government and my policy views in many cases align with Libertarians and in many cases with Republicans.

You and I are BOTH previous County Chair’s of the Allen County Libertarian Party and we both switched to the Republican Party fairly recently; in fact, you switched to the Republican party soon after I did.

I voted for Ron Paul in the primary. I do not agree with Ron Paul on everything; however, he is head and shoulders a better candidate that John McCain. I am not part of the group of Ron Paul supporters that got organized to support Ron Paul; however, I have looked at their membership and surpisingly enough out of over one hundred people only two of them have ever been members of the Libertarian Party; the rest are Independents or Republicans.

Steve Shine appointed me to be a Precint Committeeman and I am a previous chair of the Libertarian Party of Allen County. Steve Shine realizes that the local Republican Party needs to grow and that they need new blood. I am working from within the local Republican Party to reform it. I want to see the local Republican Party change so that it consistently represents a desire to see smaller government and espouses personal freedoms once again.

I will work with long time Republicans as well as newer Republicans (Like those who support Ron Paul) to try to reform the local GOP so that it represents what it used to.

If you have truly joined the local Republican Party you should do the same rather then lash out at its newest members with highly inaccurate information.

Editor’s note to Mike: If you’re such a good republican, why are you listing the Allen County Libertarian’s blog as your web site on your posts?

I was in GOP headquarters last week diagnosing the Allen County GOP Internet connection, which for the record I provide basically for *free*.

While there I looked at the browsing history of AB’s old machine, which is where Tina Strack sits. Over the prior 4 weeks, there were hundreds of visits to Ron Paul Meetup sites, the North West Indiana Ron Paul Supporters site, Ron Paul’s official site, Ron Paul discussion forums and too many others to list here.

I specifically asked Tina what Ron Paul “wing-nuts” were using the GOP’s computers and Internet connection to access all of this. Her reply “I don’t know”.

Yeah right, give me a break.

So they all joined together and held hands.

I know it does not cost $50 to be a Precint Committeeman; I was just trying to figure out where Jennifer heard that it cost $50.

1) Before bashing someone else concerning their grammer, take a look at your item number 4 ““All it takes if $50 and you, too…” and fix your own mistakes before correcting others.

2) No one was “usurping rules to get Ron Paul nominated”. There were some at the caucus using Roberts Rules of Order which the state party is supposed to use and follow themselves. According to the National Rules they had every right to nominate people from the floor. They were following the rules, the state party was NOT.

3) This has nothing to do with schemes and hissy fits. It’s about following the National Rules and following Roberts Rules of Order, which the Republican Party sees no need to follow either one!

Now, you are truly showing your ignorance Jennifer by the above quote. Who is using computers and resources at the GOP? Please name names and state your facts of information. And to usurp the nomination for President? I guess you don’t understand how the electoral college really works. How would using the GOP’s computers get people to join “their cause”? Give me a break!

Before you make accusations, Jennifer, please back them up with facts, or you’re no better than the people you are pointing fingers at.
