UPDATE: I took the image off, it just ripped at my heart all night. I’ve linked to it below.

First, I want to apologize for the graphic example and it truly breaks my heart. I cried just putting it here. However it makes the point and it’s part of what we’re dealing with when it comes to abortion. Think about it next time you vote for someone.

Again, my sincere apologies.

From the Urinal Gayzette

The Allen County Commissioners are considering a local law that would require abortion providers to have admitting privileges to local hospitals.

Why shouldn’t a doctor performing the act of killing a human and endangering the life of the mother not have have admitting privileges at a local hospital? How will the patient know where to receive follow-up care? The butcher should have the responsibility to follow the patient from the gruesome act of killing her child, to helping save her life because he botched the procedure.

Earlier this year U.S. Senators David Vitter, George Voinovich and Sam Brownback, (yes, they are all Republicans) introduced the Pregnant Women Health and Safety Act. It would require physicians who perform abortions to hold admitting privileges at a hospital that the they can travel to in one hour or less.

In spite of what the left will tell you, abortions carry a risk. Doctors who provide abortions should, at the very least hold admitting privileges at a hospital close to the abortion clinic.

The commissioners heard the request Friday from Dr. Geoff Cly, who wants the county to require all surgeons and doctors that provide outpatient invasive procedures to have ties to a local hospital and have on-call, after-hours staff to handle emergencies.

[...]

A similar battle has been waged previously in the Indiana legislature.

This year, Cly testified in support of Senate Bill 146, which would have required physicians who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital in the county or in a county adjacent to where the abortion is performed, and to notify the patient of the hospital location where the patient can receive follow-up care by the physician.

Cly told a committee of legislators stories of abortions performed in Allen County by doctors from other areas in which the procedure had complications, including leaving portions of the fetus inside the woman.

There was little discussion over this section of the bill, though another portion requiring doctors to tell women seeking an abortion that her fetus might feel pain has been controversial.

The bill passed the Senate this year but did not receive a hearing in the Indiana House.

It got Pelosi’d, go figure.

I applaude you for having the courage to show the photograph. Abortion is an ugly thing in every way.

  2. Steve Gordon says:

Ugly, disgusting, nauseating. This picture cannot truly be described sufficiently. The ONLY positive aspect of this photo is knowing that the soul of this poor child is in the presence of its Creator.

The proposal before the County commissioners is a reasonable requirement, given the legality of abortion. No other “procedure” is so adamantly protected from public oversight.

Be sure that this proposal will raise national attention. I hope so.

To the commissioners: pass this ordinance into law.

  3. Dont get me wrong when I ask/say this, because I am all for this ordinance; however, how will this avoid a constitutional/judicial review show down so it actually works instead of getting stonewalled for years?

  4. BTW Dan thank you for making me puke.

  5. Common Sense says:

Are the abortionists/prochoice folks going to argue against SAFER ABORTIONS?

People can and do disagree with whether abortions should be legal, but so long as they are, the provider should meet the same standards of safety, care, and peer review as other providers of invasive proceedures. Arguing against this is saying that the individual’s choice includes taking the risks identified by Dr Cly. That is, sterilization because the abortionist left parts of the baby in the mother’s womb.

Then again, that is EXACTLY what Planned Parenthood did when they complained that forcing abortion clinics to follow the same standards as other clinics would force the abortion providers out of business. So much for arguing that the abortion decision is in the best interest of the health of the mother! Gee whiz.

MRev. White – Is there anyone who would not say that the image that made you puke was not a baby? Obama would. In fact, he opposes the notion that if a baby survives an abortion attempt, that the child should live. How barbaric is he? THAT should make us puke and pray for his eternal soul, not his ascension to the highest office in the land.

Hmmm …I have finally found out why “Common Sense” is an oxymoron. Roe v. Wade was somehow scraped from the Constitution (in much the same way that abortions work) by a liberal judiciary who wanted to salve the liberal thinkers of that time who believed that abortion needed to be legal in order to avoid the practice of using a coathanger in the back alley.

Now it seems that the almighty dollar has overcome the need to perform abortion operations in a sanitary facility with proper oversight by health care authorities. We have inexplicitly returned to the back alley.

Abortions have snuffed out an estimated 46 Million lives since 1973 and that number is growing at a rate of 1.3 million each year. Dr. Cly’s request addresses only adequate medical care, not the killing of babies. Why would our liberal bureaucrats and elected officials have any concern about Cly’s request?

  7. Michelle says:

abortion is a DISGUSTING business. Liberals don’t want this to pass because of the cost the abortion companies would incur – making it less profitable for them. If this passes, there would be fewer abortion clinics, as it would eat into profit margins. Goodnes knows no lefty wants that!

If i remember correctly, a beauty salon has more health inspection requirements than an abortion clinic.
