Wizards may lose affiliation with San Diego Padres

Update: Scott Spaulding tells me this was mentioned in Ft Wayne Business Weekly as well.

We received word today thatÂ San Diego Padres may be dropping their affiliation with the Fort Wayne Wizards effective with the 2009 season. We contacted the Midwest League office for confirmation and comment this morning, however league president George Spelius was unavailable. We expect a return call later today.

More as the story develops.
