I only heard about it the day before, and that's only because I read What's Going Down(town).... I couldn't make it because like a lot of other young professionals, I was at work when they had this ceremony. It would have been nice if they did it on the weekend. I think the number of people who showed is a non-story to everyone but the naysaysers who hope to be proven right, despite the detrimental impact that would have on the Fort Wayne tax base. Ironic considering the tax impact of this project was the naysayers original rallying call... Now they would rather be right and pay more, than be wrong and pay less. It's time to set aside pride, there's a hole in the ground downtown that isn't going away. It's in EVERYONE's best interest that this be a successful venture. It wasn’t very well publicized.
